De La Salle baseball 2B Alec Nava voted SBLive’s Northern California High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to De La Salle baseball second baseman Alec Nava for being voted SBLive’s Northern California High School Athlete of the Week for March 21-27!

The senior went 5-5 with three runs scored and driven in for the 2-0 Spartans.

Nava received 51.77% of the vote, beating out Maxwell's Kimmi Garrison who finished second with 35.37%. Willows' Emily Thurman finished third with 12.18% and Vacaville Christian's Emerson Meggers finished fourth with 0.34%. There were over 24,000 votes tallied this week!

BASEBALL:

Gavin Farinha, Turlock Christian:

Farinha threw a five-inning no-hitter against Hilmar, and went 2-2 with a walk and three runs scored at the plate.

Andy Rios, Calaveras:

Rios tossed a complete game shutout in a win against Sonora, and also went 2-4 with a walk and scored three runs. He got a save earlier in the week as well.

Andrew Crockett, Bay School:

Crockett led the Breakers to a 2-1 week hitting 5-9 with eight RBIs and two walks, and pitching a scoreless inning in one of their wins.

Enrique Gonzalez, Pittsburg:

Gonzalez threw a scoreless one-hitter in a 4-0 win against Hayward.

Tom Reed, Berean Christian:

Reed threw a no-hitter and chipped in an RBI double in a 5-0 win against Cloverdale.

Rowan Felsch, Palo Alto:

Felsch blasted three homers to go 4-8 with six RBIs as the Vikings routed Cupertino twice.

Henry Bolte, Palo Alto:

Bolte went 6-9 two home runs and six RBIs

SOFTBALL:

Kira Morris, Eureka:

Morris pitched three shutouts in two days for the Loggers, including a perfect game, and totaled 37 K's in 18 innings. She also went 6-10 at the plate with eight RBIs and five runs scored.

Riley Wickum, Sutter:

Wickum spearheaded a 7-0 week for the Huskies primarily in the circle, in addition to going 8-20 at the plate. She went 3-0 in five appearances and allowed only two earned runs in 20 innings and fanning a whopping 49 batters.

Delainey Everett, Oakdale:

Everett had a borderline-perfect game in both the batter's box and the circle in a 12-0 rout of Kimball, throwing five scoreless innings with no hits or runs allowed and also hitting 4-4 with three RBIs.

Lexi Baumgartner, Quincy:

Baumgartner went 6-7 with seven RBIs and nine runs scored to power the Trojans to three blowout wins.

Hallie Prather, Wheatland:

Prather threw three scoreless innings and got a win twice against Orland, and also went 3-10 with a homer, three RBIs, and five runs scored in three games.

Thomara Drummer, San Rafael:

Drummer helped lead the Bulldogs to a 4-0 week by pitching seven scoreless innings (with 16 K's) in three appearances, and batting 9-13 with eight runs scored and seven RBIs.

Rachel Kimball, Yreka:

Kimball pitched the Miners to three straight wins in less than a span of 24 hours. She threw 13 innings, allowed just two earned runs, and got the decision in all three games.

Randi Roelling, Central Catholic:

Roelling tossed a no-hitter with 18 strikeouts in a 1-0 win against Manteca. In the Raiders' other game, she allowed only one hit and one earned run in five innings with 12 K's in a win against Sierra, and hit 3-4 with three RBIs and three runs.

Maggie Klemesrud, Portola (Portola):

In three games for the 2-1 Tigers, Klemesrud went 8-11 with four triples, two doubles, two walks, and four steals, driving in five and scoring seven times.

Emily Thurman, Willows:

Thurman helped lead the Honkers to a 3-0 week by throwing 17 innings with no earned runs allowed, only two hits given up, and 37 strikeouts. She got the win in all three games, and also went 6-12 with six RBIs at the dish.

Kimmi Garrison, Maxwell:

Garrison went 8-12 and scored seven runs for the 3-0 Panthers, and pitched six innings with no earned runs allowed in their win against Biggs.

Anaya Garcia, Sanger:

Garcia batted 6-8 with three doubles and six RBIs for the 2-1 Apaches.

Malaya Johnson, Roseville:

Johnson led the Tigers to a 2-0 week throwing complete game shutouts in both, totaling 24 K's and only three hits allowed in 12 innings. She also hit 4-8 with two RBIs.

Emerson Meggers, Vacaville Christian:In a pair of wins against Esparto, Meggers went 4-5 with three extra-base hits and five runs scored, and also pitched 6.1 innings with only one run allowed.Megan Staton, Central Valley Christian:Staton threw a no-hitter against Hoover while also batting 3-4 with a double, a triple, and two runs.
