Meet SBLive's 2021-22 All-SoCal Girls Basketball Teams

Southern California is one of the premier hotbeds of girls basketball talent in the world, and the 2021-22 CIF basketball season was another great reminder. Three national championship contenders called SoCal home this past season, as did dozens more elite teams and hundreds more renowned programs – not to mention many of the top individual stars in the sport. With that being said, here are SBLive's All-SoCal girls basketball teams for 2021-22. 

For all of our end-of-season girls basketball awards, the main criteria are individual statistics and team success relative to strength of schedule. Any other intangible contributions that substantially affected players' overall impacts on winning were considered. Looking at both regular season and playoff success were major parts of the decision process, and we also took in the opinions of coaches all across the area.

FIRST TEAM:

G Londynn Jones – Corona Centennial – SR.

Jones, a 4-star UCLA commit, averaged 25.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.4 assists per game for the 26-7 State Open Division quarterfinalists. She knocked down 108 threes at a 38% clip with an EFG of 51%, and shot 80% on nearly 200 free throw attempts. She was also named to SBLive's First Team All-State.

G/F Juju Watkins – Sierra Canyon – JR.

As SBLive's California Player of the Year, Watkins is also our SoCal Player of the Year by default. We wrote about her MVP season in full in our All-State post, but the 5-star junior averaged 24.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.8 steals, and two blocks per game to lead the Trailblazers to a State Open Division title.

G/F Destiny Agubata – Etiwanda – SO.

Agubata helped lead the 29-1 Eagles to a Southern Section Open Division championship averaging 16.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game.

F Gabriela Jaquez – Camarillo – SR.

The 5-star UCLA commit and McDonald's All-American led the 30-3 Scorpions to the CIFSS Division 1 finals averaging 34.2 points, 15.7 rebounds, 4.7 steals, and 2.6 assists per game. She is also on our First Team All-State and was the runaway pick for Ventura County Player of the Year.

F/C Kennedy Smith – Etiwanda – SO.

Smith led the CIFSS champs with 18.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and two blocks per game,  and averaged three APG and two SPG as well. She made SBLive's First Team All-State.

F/C MacKenly Randolph – Sierra Canyon – SO.

Randolph, a 4-star forward, averaged 15 points and 11.6 rebounds per game for the State Open Division champion.

C Ice Brady – Cathedral Catholic – SR.

The 5-star UConn commit averaged career-highs of 20.7 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, and recorded 12.8 RPG and 1.8 BPG for the No. 3 team in the San Diego Section. Brady is also an SBLive All-State first teamer and a McDonald's All-American.

C Breya Cunningham – La Jolla Country Day – JR.

Cunningham averaged 18.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game on 64% FG for the CIFSDS Open Division champion. The 5-star center and top-five prospect in the Class of 2023 was on our First Team All-State.

SECOND TEAM:

G Kaylee Byon – Rosary Academy – SR.

Byon averaged 19.3 points, a career-high 6.9 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Trinity League co-champion and State Division I quarterfinalist. She was named MVP of the Trinity League and is committed to Utah Valley.

G Jessica Grant – Mission Hills – SR.

Grant led the Grizzlies to the San Diego Section Open Division section finals averaging 17.1 points, 3.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. She led the entire country with 162 made threes and 5.1 made threes per game while knocking down 41.5% of them.

G Skye Belker – Windward – JR.

Belker averaged 18 points a game to lead the Wildcats to the CIFSS Open Division playoffs and a Southern Region Division I title.

G Jada Williams – La Jolla Country Day – JR.

Williams helped lead LJCD (30-2) to a San Diego Section Open Division title and top-10 ranking in the country. The 4-star PG averaged 11.4 points, 4.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.

G/F Chloe Briggs – Ontario Christian – JR.

Briggs, a 4-star guard, led the Knights to a 31-5 record, CIFSS 2-A finals appearance and Division II Southern Region semifinals appearance. She averaged 22.7 points, 11 rebounds, 2.3 steals, one block, and a nation-leading 9.1 assists per game.

G/F Hannah Stines – Orangewood Academy – SR.

The 4-star Washington commit led the Spartans to a Southern Section Open Division playoff birth, San Joaquin League title, and Division I Regional finals appearance. Stines averaged 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game.

G/F Lani White – Mater Dei – SR.

White, a Utah commit, led the Monarchs to a Trinity League co-title and two Southern Section Open Division playoff wins. She averaged 15.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, and was one of the top defensive players in the area (2.4 SPG).

F/C Chloe Williams – Bishop Montgomery – SR.

Williams put up big numbers all season to lead the Knights to the Southern Section Open Division playoffs and Division I Southern Region semifinals. The Tulsa commit averaged 23.5 points, 10 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.

THIRD TEAM:

G Taylor Feldman – Crean Lutheran – SR.

Feldman, an NAU commit, averaged over 27 PPG to lead the Saints to an Empire League title and the CIFSS 2-AA semifinals.

G Ashley Chea – Flintridge Prep – JR.

One of the Southern Section's leading scorers, Chea led the Wolves to the CIFSS 2-AA playoffs with 29.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 2.4 assists per game.

G Janna Holley – Birmingham – SR.

Holley led Birmingham to a City Section Open Division championship and was named the LACS Player of the Year. She posted career-highs of 18.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.9 steals per game to go with 4.2 APG.

G Angie Robles – Bishop's – SR.

The leading scorer in the San Diego Section, Robles averaged 28.6 points, six rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 3.4 steals per game to lead the Knights to the CIF Division II State quarterfinals. She shot career-highs of 49% from the field 42% from downtown, and 54% EFG playing one of the toughest schedules in the CIFSDS.

G Addie Deal – Pacifica Christian – FR.

Deal led the Tritons to a CIFSS 4A title with 21.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and four steals a game. She shot 49% from the field and 38% from three.

G Kayla Keshmeshian – Viewpoint – SR.

Keshmeshian was named the CIFSS Division 1 co-Player of the Year after helping lead Viewpoint to its first ever section title.

G/F Taj Roberts – La Jolla Country Day – SO.

Roberts, a 4-star wing, averaged 14 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and two steals per game for the top team in the San Diego Section.

G/F Karlee White – Viewpoint – JR.

White scored 37 points in a CIFSS Division 1 finals victory and was named co-Player of the Year for the division.

G/F Ari Long – Valley View – JR.

Long averaged 31.5 points, 3.9 steals, two blocks, and career-highs of 15.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game to power the Eagles to a 26-5 record and CIFSS Division 1 playoff birth. With 114 made threes on over 38% 3FG and a prolific mid-range game, Long was one of the most unstoppable shooting threats in the country.

C Emmy Stout – Maranatha Christian – SO.

Stout led the Eagles to a CIFSDS Division 3 title with 21.7 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game on 58% shooting.
