San Juan Hills' Timmy Herr is SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week (11/20/2023)

Sophomore quarterback leads the Stallions to huge playoff win with big numbers before scoring loads of fan votes to earn prestigious award

It was a heck of a sophomore season for Timmy Herr.

The 6-foot, 205-pound quarterback completed 67 percent of his passes (204 of 305) for 2,434 yards and 21 touchdowns, leading San Juan Hills of San Juan Capistrano to an 10-3 record.

The Stallions reached the Southern Section Division 3 semifinals before losing to St. Bonaventure, 20-13.

They reached the semifinals because of a wild 42-35 quarterfinal comeback win at Citrus Valley when Herr completed 34 of 47 passes for 331 yards and accounted for five touchdowns.

That put Herr on an SBLive Sports performance list, where he really put up some amazing numbers. Herr compiled 9,171 votes to capture 51.23 percent to win the SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week contest for games played Nov. 9-11.
