CIF State Championship boys basketball 2024 recap: All six box scores

Besides Monterey's win over Chatsworth in D4, the teams that shot and rebounded better won going away.

There's much to break down in a box score. Who won the battle of the boards? Who took care of the ball and committed less turnovers?

Who was better at the line?

In the case of the 2024 CIF State Champions at beautiful Golden 1 Center, home of the NBA's Sacramento Kings, the team that made a higher percentage of shots and rebounded better won five of the six games.

The exception was in the D4 boys, where Chatsworth shot better than Monterey (43 to 36 percent) and held a 45-38 edge on the boards, but still lost 74-66.

One other oddity from the game: Chatsworth's super sophomore Alijah Arenas set a Division 4 scoring record with 44 points — second most in any division of any championship game — but Monterey found a way to prevail.
