We’ve selected 21 candidates for your consideration

Central Florida boys basketball players were a spirited bunch the week before Christmas, delivering plenty of good performances.
We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 21 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 18-23, 2023.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 11:59 pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Ameer Ramadan, Guard, Orlando Christian Prep: The talented senior poured in 21 points to lead the Warriors to a 77-62 victory against St. Brendan in a consolation game of the Kreul Classic.

Tre DuBois, Guard, Evans (Orlando): The 6-foot-1 junior scored 12 points to lead the Trojans past Lake Brantley, 50-49. He also scored 16 points in a 56-48 victory against Apopka.

Landen Paquette, Small Forward/Guard, Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs): The 6-4 senior pumped in 19 points in a loss to Evans. He also scored 18 points in a 42-32 victory against DeLand.

Lucas Valdes, Junior, Circle Christian (Winter Park): Turned in a big effort with 25 points, seven rebounds, six steals and three assists in an 80-49 romp against Family Christian Center. He also had 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 60-51 victory against Geneva School (Casselberry).

Cooper Flagg, Forward, Montverde Academy: The 6-foot-9 Duke commit recorded 22 points in a 110-57 rout of Cannon School (N.C.) in the championship bracket of the City of Palms Classic at Southwestern Florida State College in Fort Myers. He also had 20 points in a 95-55 victory against Archbishop Stepinac (N.Y.), and 21 points and 14 rebounds for a double and four blocks and three assists in a 73-59 victory against Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) in the championship game.

Cheo James, Guard, Boone (Orlando): The 6-3 senior turned in a stellar performance for the Braves with 35 points in a 65-57 victory against Astronaut (Titusville).

Donovan Williams, Jr., Point Guard/Shooting Guard/Wing, Edgewater (Orlando): The 6-4 junior had a big day with 20 points and seven assists in a 77-56 victory against Desert Pines (Las Vegas) in the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.

Dillon Mancauskas, Guard, Mount Dora Christian: The 6-3 senior dropped 17 points on Lake Buena Vista in a 79-24 win.

Vladimir Torrado, Guard, Harmony: The 5-11 senior poured in 22 points to lead the Bulldogs past Sebastian River, 56-44. He also had 17 points in a 66-61 win against Centennial (Port St. Lucie).

Jalen Reece, Guard, Oak Ridge (Orlando): The talented junior recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists in a 107-35 victory against Mid-Pacific Institute (Hawaii) in the Iolani Classic in Honolulu. He also had 21 points and five assists in a 69-57 victory against national power DeMatha, and had 16 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals to lead the Pioneers past Christ the King (N.Y.), 83-68, in the championship game.

Dylan Labuhn, Shooting Guard, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo): The 6-3 senior scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers to propel the Eagles past Iolani (Hawaii), 68-56, in the seventh-place game of the Iolani Cassic in Honolulu.

TaVeon Jones, Point Guard, Windermere: The talented senior poured in 23 points in a strong performance, leading the Wolverines past Dr. Phillips (Orlando), 77-65.

Elijah Green, Guard, Dr. Phillips (Orlando): The senior scored 20 points in a loss to Windermere.

Adonys Christo, Guard, Horizon (Winter Garden): The senior recorded 20 points, two assists and two steals in a 50-42 loss to Lyman (Longwood).

Kameren Wright, Guard, Olympia: The talented 6-6 senior scored 15 points to lead the Titans past West Orange (Winter Garden), 57-29.

Kason Beezer, Guard, Cypress Creek (Orlando): Crafty sophomore turned in a superb performance with 26 points on six 3-pointers, four steals and three rebounds to lead the Bears past Lake Buena Vista, 74-39.

Jermichael Johnson, Small Forward, Apopka: The 6-3 junior recorded 13 points, eight rebounds and six steals in a wild 35-34 victory against crosstown rival Wekiva.

Julian Clarke, Point Guard, Lake Highland Prep: The 6-1 senior recorded 24 points and seven assists to lead the Highlanders past Wolfson, 77-47, in the Reps on Reps Battle at the Beach at Florida State College in Jacksonville.

Josiah Shackelford, Guard, Seminole (Sanford): Star senior turned in a stellar effort with 35 points in a 79-61 victory against Lake Howell (Winter Park).

Jeremias Berchal, Guard, Lake Mary: The 6-1 senior scored 17 points to lead the Rams past Mount Dora Christian, 53-47, in the championship game of the Cletus Stutzman Tournament at Mount Dora Christian.

Kade Manley, Guard, Mainland (Daytona Beach): Fantastic freshman continued his torrid play with 23 points and five rebounds in an 86-77 victory against Tampa Catholic in the championship game of The First Academy Invitational in Orlando. He also had nine points and two assists in a 60-59 triumph against Mount Vernon (Atlanta).
