Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week (1/22/2024)?

We’ve selected 27 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida boys basketball players continue to post impressive stat lines in 2024.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 27 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 16-20, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Last week’s winner: SBLive congratulates Mainland (Daytona Beach) freshman guard Kade Manley for winning Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 8-13, 2024.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Derik Queen, Forward, Montverde Academy: The 6-foot-10 senior from Baltimore notched a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds in a 76-31 victory against DME Academy.

Mikey Madueme, Forward, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): The 6-5 star sophomore turned in another stellar effort with 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Highlanders (16-3) past Kissimmee Osceola, 69-53.

Luke McCrimmon, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Kissimmee Osceola: Sophomore scored 22 points in a loss to Lake Highland Prep.

Myles Mayfield, Forward, Edgewater (Orlando): Senior recorded 21 points and eight rebounds in an 80-74 loss to Victory Christian (Lakeland).

Cameron Bryant, Guard/Wing, Oviedo: The 6-6 junior dropped 21 points on The Master’s Academy (Oviedo) in a 63-53 victory.

Dylan Labuhn, Shooting Guard, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo):The 6-3 senior scored 25 points, including six 3-pointers, in a loss to Oviedo. He also had 25 points in a 67-64 win against West Orange (Winter Garden).

Asa Kohn, Point Guard/Shooting Guard, Hagerty (Oviedo): Turned in another big performance for the Huskies with 25 points in an 82-61 victory against Central Florida Christian Academy (Orlando).

Brandon Bass Jr., Shooting Guard, Windermere Prep: Sensational sophomore poured in 28 points in a 63-49 loss to Class 5A state power Miami Norland. He also scored 29 points in a 71-67 win against Lake Highland Prep, and 24 points in an 85-82 overtime win against Windermere.

Julian Clarke, Point Guard, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): The 6-1 senior racked up 26 points and four rebounds in a loss to Windermere Prep.

Javi Rowell, Point Guard, Mount Dora Christian: Senior poured in 25 points to lead the Bulldogs past Northside Christian, 66-48.

Jaydan Jeantinord, Guard, Bridge to Independence (Orlando): The 6-4 freshman recorded a double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds in a 70-25 rout of Apopka Christian. Earlier, he had 22 points and 13 rebounds in a 91-75 loss to North Kissimmee Christian.

Angel Romeu, Guard, Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee): Sophomore scored 23 points to lead the Lions past Patel, 74-59.

Paxton Boaz, Guard, International Community School (Winter Park): Freshman notched 18 points, three rebounds and three steals in a 46-41 victory against All Saints Academy (Winter Haven).

Jamier Jones, Guard, Oak Ridge (Orlando): The 6-6 junior turned in another outstanding performance with 27 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double to lead the Pioneers past Olympia (Orlando), 87-73.

Ameer Ramadan, Guard, Orlando Christian Prep: Senior poured in 26 points to lead the Warriors past Punta Gorda Charlotte, 50-46.

Mateo Medina, Guard, The Geneva School (Casselberry): Freshman pumped in a career high 39 points to lead the Knights past Crooms Academy (Sanford), 96-94, in double overtime.

Tyrell Johnson, Guard/Forward, Crooms Academy (Sanford): The 6-1 freshman scored 25 points in a loss to The Geneva School.

Landen Paquette, Small Forward/Guard, Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs): The talented 6-4 senior pumped in 30 points to lead the Patriots past Hagerty, 65-41. He also had 20 points in a 66-62 win against Lake Mary, 15 points in a 46-60 victory against Lake Minneola, and 13 points in a 55-52 overtime victory against Boone.

Sylus Cory, Forward/Guard, Harmony: The 6-4 junior scored 20 points to lead the Longhorns past Port St. Lucie, 78-65.

Brady Wood, Forward, Foundation Academy: The 6-5 senior recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lions past Orangewood Christian (Maitland), 70-44.

Jeriel Martinez, Shooting Guard, New Dimensions (Kissimmee):Senior poured in 25 points in an 80-47 win against Mater Brighton Lakes Academy.

Jomar Collazo, Guard, Southland Christian (Kissimmee): Junior scored 20 points in a 77-57 win against Montverde Academy Regional.

Kameren Wright, Guard, Olympia (Orlando): The talented 6-5 senior scored 21 points in a 67-30 victory against Apopka.

Ta’Veon Jones, Point Guard, Windermere: Senior exploded for a school record 38 points in an 85-82 overtime loss to Windermere Prep.

Zeke Aime, Guard/Wing, Palm Bay: The 6-4 senior scored 17 points to lead the Pirates past Viera, 62-46, in the Cape Coast Conference Tournament.

Ryan Blount, Guard/Forward, Rockledge: Senior poured in 27 points to lead the Raiders past Astronaut (Titusville), 81-42, in the Cape Coast Conference Tournament.

Narayan Thomas, Guard/Forward, Mainland (Daytona Beach): The 6-6 senior exploded for 27 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double and added six steals and four steals to lead the Bucs past Pine Ridge (Deltona), 74-37.
