Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week (1/22/2024)?

We’ve selected 14 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida girls’ basketball players continue to light up the scoreboard and then some this season.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 14 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 16-20, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's noominees:

Finley Chastain, Guard Montverde Academy: Fantastic 6-foot freshman from Celina, Texas, scored 17 points to lead the Eagles past Southeastern Prep Academy, 56-42.

Talia St. Hilaire, Forward, City of Life Christian (Kissimmee): Star senior turned in a solid performance with 17 points, seven rebounds and eight steals to lead the Warriors past Jupiter Christian, 59-37. She also tallied 18 points, seven rebounds and five steals in a 54-21 romp against Calvary Chapel.

Natalie Doan, Guard, Mount Dora Christian: Junior scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs past Winter Park, 43-37.

Avery Michels, Guard, Foundation Academy (Winter Garden): The 5-11 freshman poured in 18 points to lead the Lions past City of Life Christian, 60-41.

Dakara Merthie, Guard, Lake Mary: Sophomore scored 16 points to lead the Rams past Hagerty (Oviedo), 45-31.

Arlinda Roundtree, Forward, Olympia: Star senior recorded a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds and added five assists, four steals and four blocked shots to lead the Titans past Lake Nona, 58-53.

Ariel Pham, Shooting Guard, Winter Park: Junior racked up 19 points to lead the Wildcats past University High (Orlando), 54-35.

McKenna Murphy, Guard, Boone (Orlando): Senior scored 16 points to lead the Braves past The Master’s Academy (Oviedo), 57-35.

Brooklyn O’Gallagher, Utility, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo):Freshman pumped in 15 points in a loss to Boone (Orlando).

Lexi Blue, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): The 6-2 senior turned in another strong performance with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals in a 76-42 win against Windermere Prep.

Jasmine Bocca, Point Guard, Colonial (Orlando): Recorded 16 points, two rebounds and two steals in a 51-46 double-overtime victory against St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale).

Jaida Civil, Guard, Palm Bay: The 6-0 junior notched 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists and six steals to lead the Pirates past Eau Gallie (Melbourne), 61-18.

Jaida Williams-Goins, Point Guard, Rockledge: The talented senior recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and nine steals to lead the Raiders past Titusville, 42-29.

Davionne Stinson, Guard, Vero Beach: The junior recorded 15 points and two steals to propel the Indians past Okeechobee, 44-13.
