Vote: Who is the Tampa Bay Baseball Player of the Week (3/12/2024)?
The Florida High School Baseball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.
As such, we have 10 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Tampa Bay Florida high school baseball player of the week award from March 4-March 9, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 17th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominees:
Edward Sax, Shorecrest Prep: The freshman pitcher pitched 5.1 innings, allowed one hit, one run in a 2-1 victory over Academy at the Lakes last week.
Sergio Garcia, Zephryhills Christian Academy: Garcia made it happen at the plate and on the mound. The sophomore pitched four innings of shutout ball, struck out six and belted a home run, double in a 11-0 win over Bayshore Christian.
Adam Wehse, Pinellas Park: The senior hurler went the distance, pitching seven strong innings, striking out 10 in a 5-2 win over Boca Ciega last week.
Garrett Morgan, Seffner Christian: Morgan, a senior catcher, had a solid night at the plate in a 15-2 win over Hernando Christian Academy. The senior had two hits and drove in four runs in the victory.
Dominic May, Northeast: May pitched six innings of shutout ball, allowing just three hits and striking out six in a 6-0 win over Keswick Christian.
Gabe Troya, Carrollwood Day School: In a 3-0 victory over Countryside, Troya went nearly five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five.
Santiago Rojas, Robinson: Rojas made sure St. Petersburg Catholic didn’t touch the board in a 9-0 win. The sophomore pitched five innings, allowed four hits and struck out three.
Zane Pestalozzi, Jesuit: The senior first baseman belted a home run, driving in two runs in the Tigers’ 10-5 victory over Sunset last week.
Gabe Nenno, Gulf: Nenno’s bat was explosive in the Buccaneers’ 16-5 victory over Admiral Farragut, as he drove in four runs off two hits, which included a double.
Vinnie VerPault, Academy at the Lakes: The Wildcats’ ace was at the top of his game in a 15-1 win over Hernando Christian Academy, with VerPault going four innings, no hits, no runs and striking out seven.
