Former St. John Bosco quarterback and pitcher DJ Uiagalelei won't be playing baseball in his first year at Clemson, his uncle Mau told Scorebook Live California in a text message on Monday. Uiagalelei enrolled at Clemson in January following St. John Bosco's CIF state championship in football in the fall.

"DJ will eventually play baseball, probably next year, but his first year he's focusing full on with football only," Mau Uiagalelei said.

Uiagalelei, a right-handed pitcher, has a fastball in the mid 90s. He's a promising baseball prospect in addition to being a top high school football recruit. Uiagalelei was ranked as the tenth best football player in the 2020 recruiting class, per 247Sports.
