Dylan Raiola officially signs with Nebraska

Buford (Georgia) star is rated among the top five high school quarterbacks in the country

BUFORD, GEORGIA – Buford high senior quarterback Dylan Raiola made it official early Wednesday morning.

Kicking off Early National Signing Day, Raiola made good on his decision from earlier this week, when he flipped his commitment from the University of Georgia to the University of Nebraska. He becomes the first Five-Star recruit to sign with the Cornhuskers from the high school ranks since offensive tackle Baker Steinkuhler headed to Lincoln in 2008.

Raiola transferred to Buford from Arizona last summer shortly after his May commitment to Georgia. Previously, he had been committed to Ohio State. At 6-foot-2-1/2 with exceptional arm talent, major college programs never let up on their overtures.

In the end, family ties may have made the difference for Nebraska.

Raiola's uncle, Donovan Raiola, is the Cornhuskers' offensive line coach and his father, Dominic, who had long career in the NFL, also played at Nebraska.
