It's time once again to take a deep dive into the Georgia High School Girls Basketball scene to select our Player of the Week. We seek your assistance and ask you to look at this week's candidates and vote for the candidate you find most deserving..

As such, we have 11 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Georgia High School Girlss Basketball player of the Week award from January 8-13, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 21st at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Nya Smith, Milton

Smith was unstoppable in a win over South Forsyth. She finished with 35 points, six rebounds and four steals.

I’Ziah McCutchins, Trion

McCutchins led all players in points with 27, and steals with five, and added seven rebounds and three assists in a win over Coosa.

Sa’Mya Wyatt, St. Francis

Wyatt dropped 32 points with 10 rebounds to lead her team past Galloway.

Katherine Bottoms, West Forsyth

Bottoms recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Denmark.

Kayley Wedlow, Bryan County

Wedlow scored a game-high 29 points to lead her team past Savannah and improve their record to 12-2.

Ellie Southards, Rabun County

Southards recorded yet another double-double, this time with 34 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Prince Avenue.

Tianna Thompson, Galloway

Thompson scored 26 points with five made threes and had six assists and five rebounds in a match-up with St. Francis.

Jazmin Thorton, Carver

Thorton dropped 31 points in a 98-37 win over Thomasville.

Reya Johnson, Statesboro

Johnson stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals in a win over Jenkins.

Alyssa Staten, Statesboro

Staten was a dominate presence in the paint. She had a 12-point, 15-rebound double-double, and played locked down defense with three steals and four blocks.

Kennedy Baker, Northwest

Baker had both game-highs with 20 points and 15 rebounds in a rivalry match-up versus Coahulla.

Claire Carlson, Cherokee Bluff

Carlson did it all in a win over East Forsyth. She finished with 18 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and four steals.
