Here are nine candidates for your voting consideration

It's time once again to take a deep dive into the Georgia High School Girls Basketball scene to select our Player of the Week. We seek your assistance and ask you to look at this week's candidates and vote for the candidate you find most deserving..

As such, we have 11 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Georgia High School Girls Basketball player of the Week award from January 15-20, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 28th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Tanyia Williams, Swainsboro

Williams had an insane 20-20 game, with 20 points and 20 rebounds in a win over Jefferson County. She also had 14 points and 18 rebounds in another game last week, closing in on that 1,000-rebound mark.

Kennedy Deese, Kell

Deese was dominant in a match-up versus Centennial. She finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds, and was amazing on the defensive end as well with five steals and four blocks.

C’India Dennis, Creekside

Dennis was doing it all last week for her squad. In one game she had a double-double with 13 points and 14 assists. In another game, she went off for a triple-double with 17 points, 13 assists, and 11 steals.

Kendall Wells, North Oconee

Wells had herself another double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds in a tough matchup versus rival Oconee County.

Mackenna Nix, Temple

Nix was on fire and had a phenomenal game. She finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds for the double-double, as well as six steals to top it off.

Bryanna Preston, Wesleyan

Preston went off for a crazy performance in a blowout win over Lumpkin County. She finished with a near triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Her 22 points were more than Lumpkin County scored in total.

Jacalyn Myrthil, Mount Paran Christian

Myrthil showed off her range with five made threes and finished with 26 points, five assists and four steals in the win over Washington.

Kie’Aundria Acree, Monroe

Acree went off for a near triple-double versus Carver. She finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Taylor Rietveld, Camden County

Rietveld had a near 20-20 game with 19 points and 17 rebounds in a blowout win over Colquitt County.
