The 2022 MHSAA soccer season is in the books after an exciting weekend at the state championships. SBLive Mississippi's Tyler Cleveland and soccer reporter Dylan Tribolet have selected the top players from across the Magnolia State to be included in SBLive's 2022 All-State soccer teams. Here's a look at the boys honorees. Congratulations to all our selections!

FIRST TEAM ALL-STATE

Forwards

Cade Ortego, Oak Grove
The junior forward was a constant threat in and around the 18. He led the Warriors to the South State Championship game scoring 18 goals on the season.

Rory Humphrey, Northwest Rankin
The Southwest CC signee scored goals all season finishing with 26 in total. He was a major player in the Cougars undefeated season and run to the 6A State Championship game. 

Logan Clark, Florence
The Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star led all of 5A in scoring with 28 goals. The Co-Lin signee is one of the best goal scores in the state and lead the Eagles to the 5A State Championship title. 

Midfielders

Jacob Young, Richland
The Mississippi College signee will guarantee to catch your eye over the course of a game. Young led a talented Richland team in scoring on their way to the 4A State title. 

Miguel Magagnin, Northwest Rankin
Magagnin was the straw that stirred the drink on an exceptionally talented Northwest Rankin team. The Jones College signee contributed to 30 goals this season leading his team to the 6A State Championship game.

Luke Hopkins, Clinton
Arguably the smoothest player in the state Hopkins glides across the field scoring and assisting goals. He was a constant presence for the 6A State Champion and scored the game winning goal in the title game.

Ethan Myers, Long Beach
The do-it-all midfielder for the 5A State Champion is an impressive player who can not only assist his team in the attack but also cut out opposing chances. 

Defenders

Charles Chisolm, Clinton
The outside back showed all season that he can defend and attack. Chisolm contributed on 7 goals this season for the 6A State Champion. 

Alexander Mink, Long Beach
The towering center back made life difficult on opposing attackers all season long pitching 13 scoreless games including giving up only 2 goals in his team’s run to the 5A State Championship.

Hogan Payne, Lewisburg
The Memphis 901 Academy product was a standout for the Patriots all season long and throughout his career. Payne is blazing quick and contributes in the attack as well playing a part in 16 goals for Lewisburg this season. 

Goalkeeper

Caleb Pemberton, Clinton
The Arrow’s goalkeeper played fantastic all season long including an exceptional shut out performance in the 6A State Championship game. 

SECOND TEAM ALL-STATE

Forwards

Caleb Davis, Madison Central
The Lee University signee was often the most creative player on the field and scored several special goals this season, 8 in total. 

Mark Edward Wilson, St. Andrew's
The junior forward was a constant threat to opposing defenses and scored 14 goals in his team’s path to the Class I State Championship game.

Trey Parnell, New Hope
Parnell led the Trojans to their first ever 5A State Championship game including the game winning goal in the North State Championship game. 

Midfielders

Korey Reeves, Florence
The talented attacking midfielder put together one of the most complete seasons of any player in the state scoring 16 goals and assisting on another 12 for the Eagles. 

Braden Taylor, Center Hill
The crafty attacking midfielder scored 10 goals and assisted on another 5 leading the way on a talented Mustangs team. 

Christian Bourgeois, St. Stanislaus
The Coast All-Star selection was the standout player for the Class I State Champions contributing to 9 goals on the season including the game winner in the State Championship game. 

Jason Garcia, Northeast Jones
Garcia is one of the leaders in points in the state scoring 24 goals and assisting on another 10 which played a large part in his team’s appearance in the 4A South State Championship. 

Defenders

Alex Mariano, Richland
The 4A State Champions defensive player of the year, Mariano was a major part 11 shutout performances on the year including one in the State Championship game.

Bryton Dupuy, Bay High
Dupuy was a lockdown defender for the Tigers all season long contributing to 12 shutout performances on his team’s way to the 4A State Championship game. 

Reece Gibson, Brandon
The central defender for the Bulldogs was a thorn in the side of some of the most talented attackers in the state. He also contributed to the attack scoring goals on 6 different occasions.

Goalkeeper

JJ Saloni, Northwest Rankin
The Cougars leader between the sticks made fantastic saves all season long, leading to 17 shutout performances and an appearance in the 6A State title game.
