Photos: Sidwell Friends (D.C.) girls roll past Centennial (Nevada) 63-30 in semifinals of inaugural State Champions Invitational
TAMPA, Fla. - Behind a 19-7 opening period, Sidwell Friends (D.C.) rolled to a 63-30 victory over Centennial (Nevada) on Friday afternoon in semifinals of the inaugural State Champions Invitational girls basketball tournament at Berkeley Preparatory School.
The Quakers held a commanding 34-10 lead at the half.
The State Champions Invitational is a four-team national tournament for NFHS state champions.
Sidwell Friends, which won the DCSAA 2A championship this season, improved to 29-0 while advancing to Saturday's title game.
Kiki Rice led the Quakers with a game-highs of 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Leah Harmon added 14 points in the victory while teammate Jadyn Donovan had 12 points and a team-high six steals and three blocked shots.
Kaniya Boyd led Centennial (17-4) with eight points.
