Vote now for best high school mascot in America, Round 2: Camas County Mushers vs. Freeport and New Berlin Pretzels

The bracket is updated for SBLive Sports' NCAA Tournament-style contest to determine the best high school mascot in America, and Round 2 is underway.

Vote below for the No. 2-seeded Camas County Mushers (Idaho) or the No. 7-seeded Freeport and New Berlin Pretzels (Illinois) to advance to the Sweet 16. The Mushers beat the Maryville Spoofhounds (Missouri) and the Pretzels topped the North East Grapepickers (Pennsylvania) in Round 1.

The Mushers earned a 2 seed by amassing 15,011 votes in our fall contests (including the championship round), while the Pretzels earned a 7 seed with 208 votes.

Voting for this matchup will conclude Friday, May 12, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

Editor's note: In the event of a tie, the team with the better seed will prevail based on the results of our fall mascot contest.

2. Camas County Mushers (Idaho)

It’s not Alaska, but Fairfield, Idaho (home of Camas County High School) does average over 60 inches of snow per year, and mushing is one efficient way to get around during winter in the rural town of 567 people.

7. Freeport and New Berlin Pretzels (Illinois)

These two Illinois schools — about 250 miles apart but both rich with German history — are the only ones in the country called the Pretzels. When they played a baseball game against each other in 2015, “Let the Salt Fly” T-shirts were on sale.
