Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Arizona High School Athlete of the Week for April 26-May 2 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff.

Colton Allen, Higley boys track: Allen turned in a 23-0 in the long jump at the East Valley Qualifier, the second-best mark in Arizona this season. He finished fourth in the 100 meters.

Alyssa Aguilar, Salpointe Catholic softball: Aguilar struck out 11 as part of a three-hitter as Salpointe Catholic defeated Sabino 10-0 on Friday. She added a hit and an RBI. Earlier in the week, she pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 4-0 win over Vista Grande and a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 10-0 victory against Cienega in which she homered and drove in two.

Jacob Anderson, Paradise Valley baseball: Anderson singled, doubled, homered, drove in five runs and scored three in Monday’s 12-0 win over Ironwood. He was the winning pitcher and drove in a run during Thursday’s 12-2 victory against Cesar Chavez.

Jocelyn Briski, Desert Vista softball: Briski, a sophomore, fired a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts (one walk) to beat Desert Ridge 3-0 on Monday. She had two hits, drove in a run and scored another. She turned in a similar performance Wednesday, pitching six no-hit innings with 13 strikeouts (one walk) and collecting three hits and two RBIs in a 9-3 victory against Mountain Pointe. 

Ryan Campos, Red Mountain baseball: Campos homered twice and doubled Monday to help Red Mountain beat Mesa 13-1. The next night, he scored two runs in a 12-2 blowout of Sandra Day O’Connor.

Brexton Clubb, Liberty baseball: Liberty defeated Sunrise Mountain 9-1 on Monday and Shadow Ridge 8-2 on Wednesday and Clubb had three RBIs in each game, including a home run against Shadow Ridge. 

Sheena Cumberbatch, Chandler girls track: At the Chandler City Varsity Meet, Cumberbatch recorded a 37-9 in the triple jump, the second-best mark in Arizona this season.

Bridget Donahey, Xavier Prep softball: Donahey homered in both of the Gators’ games last week, a 13-7 loss to Hamilton and a 17-0 victory against Westwood.

Cody Gallardo, Maricopa baseball: Gallardo, a freshman, had three hits and was the winning pitcher (seven strikeouts in five innings) in Monday’s 12-6 victory against Kofa.

Eric Garcia, Copper Canyon baseball: Garcia went 4 for 4 with six runs and six RBIs in Monday’s 30-20 victory against La Joya Community.

Sydney Haake, Desert Mountain softball: Haake homered and struck out 11 in a complete game to lead Desert Mountain to a 3-0 win over Chaparral on Tuesday.

Hina Huber, Mountain View Mesa softball: Huber twirled a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts (one walk) to lead the Toros to a 2-0 win over Basha on Thursday. Earlier in the week, she pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 9-0 rout of Chandler. She also was the winning pitcher in victories against Mesa and Corona del Sol, going 4-0 for the week.

Ryan Lopez, Westview baseball: Lopez had three hits and four RBIs and pitched a five-inning complete game (five strikeouts, zero walks) to lead Westview to a 14-3 win over Copper Canyon on Wednesday. 

Daniel Martinez, Fairfax baseball: Martinez starred at the plate and on the mound in Monday’s 15-0 rout of Metro Tech, driving in five runs and striking out eight in three innings.

Karyn Meier, Maricopa softball: Meier was 6 for 6 with four doubles, five runs and seven RBIs in Maricopa’s 27-0 rout of Maryvale on Tuesday. Two nights later, in a 15-3 victory against Browne, she was 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs and six RBIs.

Joy Moorer, North Canyon girls track: Moorer’s 42.88 in the 300 hurdles at the Paradise Valley District Meet is the best mark in that event in Arizona this season. She also finished first in the 100 hurdles and the long jump and was part of the winning 4x400 relay team.

Quinn Myers-Lenz, Cactus Shadows softball: Myers-Lenz, a sophomore, was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, three runs and four RBIs in Cactus Shadows’ 12-11 win over Gilbert on Wednesday. She had three hits (two doubles) and scored three runs in Friday’s 11-10 victory against Campo Verde.

Karina Pulu, River Valley softball: Pulu, a sophomore, had four hits, two home runs, five runs and six RBIs in Saturday’s 18-0 rout of Trivium Prep. It was her second six-RBIs game of the week — she homered, scored three runs and drove in six during Thursday’s 17-1 win against St. John Paul II Catholic. She also homered in Monday’s 15-2 victory over Mohave.

Ayden Schilb, Cienega boys track: At the Southern Arizona Championships, Schilb ran the 800 meters in 1:55.01, the second-fastest time in Arizona this season.

Tate Scott, Chandler baseball: Scott homered and drove in two to help Chandler beat Basha 7-6 on Monday. In Friday’s 6-2 win over Highland, he had two hits, two runs and a stolen base.

Karim Soto, Mountain View Marana baseball: Soto had five hits (including a home run) and five RBIs in Thursday’s 29-0 blowout of Amphitheater.

Keanu Spenser, Chaparral baseball: In Thursday’s 15-1 rout of Arcadia, Spenser singled, doubled, homered and drove in four.

Taylor Thompson, Pinnacle softball: Thompson pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and zero walks in Pinnacle’s 2-0 win over Boulder Creek on Monday. She had one of her team’s three hits.

Tim Traver, Millennium baseball: Traver homered, tripled and drove in four as Millennium defeated Verrado 19-9 on Monday. He also was the winning pitcher.

Brooklyn Ulrich, Red Mountain softball: Ulrich was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, three runs and five RBIs in Red Mountain’s 11-0 victory against Westwood on Monday.

Tommy Urbina, Tolleson Union baseball: Urbina had three RBIs and struck out seven, walked none and allowed two hits in five innings in Monday’s 10-0 win over Westview. He had three hits Wednesday in a 9-5 victory against Sierra Linda. Thursday, he collected two hits and three RBIs in a 19-0 rout of La Joya Community.

Lita Vorseth, Dobson softball: Vorseth homered, singled twice and finished with six RBIs in Dobson’s 12-1 win over Skyline on Monday. She homered, doubled and drove in three the next night, but the Mustangs lost 6-5 to Hamilton.
