University of San Diego High School grad Phil Mickelson wins 2021 PGA Championship
The 1988 graduate of University of San Diego High School - which has since moved and been renamed as Cathedral Catholic - was a two-time CIF Player of the Year for the Dons and was the 1987 Southern California Golf Champion.
Phil Mickelson has won his seventh major golf championship on Sunday, winning by two strokes at the 2021 PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
The 50 year old becomes the oldest man to capture one of golf's Major Championships, surpassing Julius Boros who won the 1968 PGA Championship at age 48.
