Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Texas High School Athlete of the Week for Jan. 24-30 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. BOYS BASKETBALL

Brady Wasurick, Caddo Mills:

The junior forward scored 28 points, 22 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 4 assists in a district win over Farmersville. Wasurick also tallied 13 points, 16 rebounds in a win over Quinlan Ford.

Diego Saldana, Laredo United:

Saldana recorded a game-high 27 points along with six 3-pointers in a 72-43 win over Laredo United South on Saturday.

Anthony Black, Duncanville:

The senior point guard dropped a double-double (16 points, 10 assists) along with 6 rebounds to lead the Panthers, who are ranked No. 3 in the country in the SBLive/SI Power 25, in a dominant 76-55 victory over DeSoto.

Jaylon Pritchett, San Antonio Jay:

The senior point guard scored 37 points and 8 rebounds in a 50-76 loss against Marshall. Pritchett is currently averaging 29.5 points, 1.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game this season.

Chris Marshall, Fort Bend Marshall:

The Texas A&M football commit continues to show that he is one of the best dual-sport athletes in Texas, as he dropped 41 points in a 96-68 win over Hightower.

Chancellor White, Richmond Foster:

The senior combo guard finished with 13 points, 4 assists, and 7 rebounds in a 62-56 conference win over Fort Bend Kempner.

Donovan O'Day, Timberview:

O'Day recorded 24 points along with the game-winning three-point play in a 65-63 comeback win against Legacy.

Michael Malone, Saginaw:

Malone set a school record- 36 points against South Hills.

Cason Wallace, Richardson:

The University of Kentucky signee led Richardson with 28 points in a dominant 79-36 win over Irving.

Josh Davis, Grapevine Faith:

Davis led Grapevine Faith with 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in a 76-62 win over Fort Worth Christian.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Reagan Jackson, Kennedale:

Led Kennedale with 40 points and broke another school record with 29 free throws made in a 63-60 overtime win against Faith Family.

Diana Lara, Laredo Cigarroa:

Dropped a game-high 22 points (15 in the first half) in a key 57-39 victory over Laredo Martin to stay in second place behind Rio Grande City.

Jiya Perry, DeSoto:

Perry led the charge offensively for the Eagles, finishing with 12 points in comeback a 51-47 win over Duncanville.

Zachara Perkins, Houston St. Pius X:

Perkins scored a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) in a 36-54 loss against Concordia Lutheran. The sophomore also joined the 1,000th career point and 500 rebound club later in the week.

Cydney Newsom, Medina:

The sophomore scored 24 points, 4 steals, and two rebounds in a loss to Nueces Canyon.

Kalysta Martin, Providence Catholic:

The sophomore combo guard scored a huge double-double (46 points, 18 rebounds) in a 56-70 loss against Hyde Park.

Aaliyah Chavez, Monterey:

The freshman was close to recording a triple-double with 18 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds in a 77-37 win over Cooper.

Suni Davis, Saginaw:

The senior guard scored 31 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals in a 59-46 victory over Arlington Heights.

Jaelyn Morrison, Hanks:

The junior combo guard finished with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists in a 39-35 win over Del Valle.

Mia Campos, Charlotte:

Campos, a senior power forward/center, tallied 31 points and 12 rebounds along with 2 assists in a 65-34 win against Sabinal.
