Congratulations to Helena girls basketball guard Olivia Johnigan for being voted SBLive’s Alabama High School Athlete of the Week for Jan. 24-30!
The junior had 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 49-33 win against Chilton County.
Johnigan received 56.23% of the vote, beating out Mountain Brook's Kyle Layton who finished second with 26.53%. Chelsea's SydneySchwallie finished third with 13.52% and Mortimer's Bellah Machen finished fourth with 2.61%. There were over 12,000 votes tallied this week!

Reniya Kelly, Hoover Girls Basketball: The North Carolina commit scored 21 points in a 61-41 win over Meridian (MS).
Kyle Layton, Mountain Brook Boys Basketball: Led Mountain Brook with 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 77-65 victory against Northridge.
Emma Smith, Vestavia Hills Girls Basketball: Smith scored 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in a 70-41 win over Pelham.
Sydney Schwallie, Chelsea Girls Basketball: Joined the 1,000th career point club with 12 points in a 44-31 win over Briarwood.
Wilder Evers, Oak Mountain Boys Basketball: Evers had 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in a 67-49 win against Thompson.
Bellah Machen, Mortimer Jordan Girls Basketball: The senior had 22 points in a 66-40 win over Clay-Chalkville.
Derek Moore, Springville Boys Basketball: Moore led Springville with 20 points in a 60-39 win over Moody. With the win, the Tigers secured the county championship.
