Here are the candidates for the WaFd BankArizona High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 7-13 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Miriam Abakar, Senior, Carl Hayden - Closing out her high school career, Abaker posted 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double, along with six steals, to help defeat Central 54-46 and put a bow on a nice finish to the season. 

Helaina Bachman, Junior, Poston Butte - Normally taking a backseat to her twin sister Adriana when it comes to shooting, Helaina was able to shine on Tuesday in Poston Butte’s 62-47 victory over Vista Grande. With 23 points, she led the game in scoring while also grabbing six rebounds, four steals and an assist. 

AJ Bonapart, Junior, Sahuaro - Helping the Cougars snag a 60-40 victory over Pueblo on the final night of the regular season, Bonapart had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds, along with four steals and an assist on Tuesday. 

Kylee Callihan, Senior, Salpointe Catholic -In the final game of the regular season, Callihan dropped 19 points, seven rebounds, five deflections, three assists and a steal to help the Lancers go out with a bang, defeating Betty Fairfax 54-37 as they now await the first round of the playoffs with a bye during the play-ins.

Victoria Cazares, Junior, Pueblo - Posting 24 points, five rebounds, four steals and an assist, Cazares closed out the final game of the regular season strong on Tuesday despite Pueblo’s 60-40 loss to Sahuaro.

Talia Dial, Senior, Dysart - On senior night, Dial went out with a bang by posting 33 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and an assist despite Dysart’s 59-48 loss to Estrella Foothills. While her senior season officially came to a close on Friday, Dial rounded out her career by posting a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds in the 61-51 loss to Saguaro. 

Demetria Dosela, Freshman, Miami - Starting the week off strong, Dosela helped Miami pick up an 84-30 win over Santa Rita on Monday with 29 points, 14 rebounds, seven steals, five assists and four blocks. 

Alyssa Estrada, Senior, St. Mary’s -In Monday’s 60-38 victory over Moon Valley, Estrada led the game in scoring with 22 points while also picking up eight steals, five assists, two rebounds and a block. 

Morgan Evenson, Sophomore, Gilbert - Shooting an outstanding 89-percent from the field on Monday in Gilbert’s 58-38 victory over Casteel, Evenson led the game in scoring with 19 points. She also had five rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist. 

Paola Fonseca, Senior, Central - Helping Central fight to a 52-48 victory over Sierra Linda on Monday, Fonseca had 11 points and a career-high 33 rebounds for a double-double, absolutely crashing the glass to help Central pick up the win. Additionally, she had four blocks, two assists and two steals. 

Kadie Healy, Senior, Sabino - Dropping 27 points on Monday in the 55-46 win over Rincon/University, Healy set herself up to go out with a bang on Tuesday on the final day of the regular season. She also had six rebounds, three assists and three steals to round out the night. 

Michaela Lee, Junior, Deer Valley - Shooting 83-percent from the field on Monday in Deer Valley’s 71-21 win over Barry Goldwater, Lee had 21 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, a deflection and an assist. 

Sarah Miller, Sophomore, Xavier - It wouldn’t be a weekly stars list without Miller making an appearance, and she earned her spot on Tuesday in the 59-46 victory over Hamilton on the road. Dropping 23 points while shooting 75-percent from the field, she also had five rebounds, five deflections and three assists to help pick up a big-time win. 

Brooklyn Pablo, Senior, Coolidge - Notching a triple-double on Tuesday with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals, Pablo also had three blocks, an assist and a deflection to help Coolidge pick up a 51-29 victory over San Tan Foothills. 

Akasha Prpich, Sophomore, Centennial -In Centennial’s final game of the regular season, Prpich showed she’s one to be on the lookout for next season, shooting 70-percent from the field for 18 points on the night. Additionally, she had nine rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block to help the Coyotes defeat the Ironwood Eagles 54-40. 

Tianna Reeder, Senior, Estrella Foothills - Helping the Wolves to a 59-48 win over Dysart on Senior Night, Reeder had 24 points, six rebounds, four assists, as well as a trio of two steals, two blocks and two deflections. 

Galilea Rivero, Senior, Deer Valley - Leading the game in scoring with 24 points, Rivero helped Deer Valley pick up a 71-21 win over Barry Goldwater while also snagging 12 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, two deflections and a block, making her just one assist shy of a triple-double.

Valerie Rogers, Senior, Tolleson - Finishing up her high school career on Monday in a 66-47 victory over La Joya, Rogers had a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. She also had two steals, two deflections, a block and an assist. 

Rahimeh Salaam, Senior, Cortez - In the final game of her high school career, Salaam helped guide Cortez to a 50-29 victory over Corondao on Monday with 18 points, 17 rebounds, nine assists, six steals and four blocks, going out in style. 

Christina Sausedo, Senior, Desert Edge - Despite a tough 50-46 loss to Notre Dame Prep on Monday, Sausedo dropped 21 points, eight steals, seven rebounds and a block. 

Lia Sims, Sophomore, Central - Reaching a new career-high of 20 points on Monday, Sims also had a double-double with 12 rebounds, along with an assist and a block, to help Central defeat Sierra Linda 52-48. 

Kiley Sours-Miller, Senior, Greenway - Closing out the final two games of her regular season strong, Sours-Miller helped the Demons win back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday to clinch the No. 14 seed in the play-ins. Starting the week off with 30 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block, the Demons were able to rout Thunderbird 63-54. She followed it up on Tuesday in the 67-22 victory over Tempe with 22 points, 15 rebounds, six blocks and four assists. She kept the same energy strong on the court in Friday’s play-in game against Coconino. Helping the Demons survive and advance to the 4A playoffs as the No. 13 seed with a 58-38 victory, Sours-Miller had 16 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, four blocks and two assists for a phenomenal performance. 

Scarlett Eberlein, Senior, Paradise Honors - She had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to help Paradise Honors cruise to victory on senior night over Yuma on Monday. 

Kacie Clinton, Senior, Bradshaw Mountain - Shooting 60-percent from the field on Friday, it wasn’t just her shooting that helped the Bears defeat the Peoria Panthers. Clinton helped Bradshaw Mountain pick up a 52-46 victory by also snagging a double-double with 10 rebounds, along with a pair of assists and steals to send the Bears to the 4A playoffs as the No. 14 seed. 

Kiley Edris, Junior, Cienega - The playoffs are the perfect opportunity to step up, and it’s exactly what Edris did for the Bobcats in Thursday’s 5A play-in game against Higley. Posting a career-high 18 points while shooting 70-percent from the field, Edris also had five steals and a trio of rebounds and assists to help defeat the Knights 57-47. 

Sara Galindo, Freshman, Pueblo - Leading things on the court Friday with 21 points, four rebounds and a steal, Galindo helped the Pueblo Warriors fight to a 54-48 victory over Amphitheater and a No. 15 seed in the playoffs. 

Jaya Huma, Senior, Saguaro -Pushing the Sabercats to a 61-51 victory over Dysart on Friday, Huma had 20 points, seven rebounds, six steals and two assists to help the Sabercats advance to the 4A playoffs as the No. 11 seed. 

Amelia Mickelson, Freshman, Sunnyslope - It might have been her first time playing in the postseason, but the youngster handled it like a champ, leading Sunnyslope on the floor on Friday with 14 points. Additionally, she had six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block to round out her night and help the Vikings fight their way to a 49-46 victory over Mountain View - Mesa and snag the final spot in the 6A bracket. 

Sophia Munoz, Senior, Ironwood Ridge - In Thursday’s 50-36 victory over the Desert Mountain Wolves, Munoz posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds to help Ironwood Ridge claim the No. 9 seed in the 5A playoffs. 

Nayeli Nidez-Acuna, Sophomore, Sunnyside - Leading the game in scoring on Thursday with 23 points, the sophomore helped Sunnyside pick up a 65-11 blowout victory over Verrado by also posting eight rebounds, five steals, four assists and a block on the night to advance to the 5A bracket in the No. 13 spot. 

Mia Singstock, Sophomore, Pinnacle - With a new career-high of 34 points, Singstock’s performance on Thursday also included two rebounds and four steals to help Pinnacle defeat Basha 55-41 and advance to the 6A bracket as the No. 10 seed. 

Ariyanna Sorenson, Senior, Cienega - Posting a double-double on Thursday with 16 points and 12 rebounds, Sorenson’s contributions helped Cienega work to a 57-47 victory over Higley to advance to the 5A state playoffs as a No. 11 seed.
