Congratulations to Chelsea boys soccer wing Luke Miller for being voted SBLive’s Alabama High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 7-13!

The 8th grader recorded 6 interceptions and scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Pinson in the Melrose Cup championship. 

Miller received 41.05% of the vote, beating out Sand Rock's Jacob St. Clair who finished second with 32.87%. Pelham's Laci Gogan finished third with 16.39% and Chelsea's Finley Walker finished fourth with 3.72%. There were over 30,000 votes tallied this week!

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for Feb. 7-13:

Jacob St. Clair, Sand Rock Boys Basketball: 

The junior combo-guard dropped 32 and 43 points across two area tournament games.

Bellah Machen, Mortimer Jordan Girls Basketball:

The senior scored 18 points to lead Mortimer Jordan to an area championship win in Area 12 6A by defeating Clay-Chalkville 68-31.

Elise Marquardt, Hoover Girls Soccer: 

The freshman scored two goals in a 5-1 win over Cullman.

Donte Bacchus, Homewood Boys Basketball: 

Bacchus recorded 25 points and 8 rebounds in a 76-63 win over Mountain Brook in the Class 6A Area 9 tournament.

Laci Gogan, Pelham Girls Basketball:

Gogan scored 16 points to lead Pelham to a 56-32 victory over Helena.

Brady Dunn, Oak Mountain Boys Basketball:

Dunn had 23 points and 7 rebounds in an Area 5 tournament win over Thompson, 66-56.

Brooke Hallman, Eufaula Girls Basketball: 

Hallman scored 18 points, including 4 three-pointers, in a 74-68 area championship double overtime win over Opelika. 

Derek Moore, Oxford Boys Basketball:

Moore scored 21 points in Oxford’s 57-52 victory over Springville. 

Olivia Johnigan, Helena Girls Basketball:

The junior recorded a double-double ( 25 points, 10 rebounds) in a 69-32 area semifinal win over Chilton County. 

MJ Jones, Pelham Boys Basketball: 

Jones posted a game-high 36 points in an area win over Helena- earning a spot in the sub-regional round of the playoffs. The senior also joined the 2,000 career point club and was named Area MVP this week.

Finley Walker, Chelsea Girls Soccer: 

Walker scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Montgomery Catholic in the Capital of Dreams tournament.
