Canby wrestling
The Cougars made the most of their final trip to the Three Rivers district meet before dropping to Class 5A next season. Canby wrestlers won four titles and advanced 11 automatic qualifiers (with one potential wild card) in winning its first district championship since 2008, edging 2020 champion West Linn by 9.5 points.
Catlin Gabel boys swimming
Catlin Gabel won its first 4A/3A/2A/1A state title since 2015, ending Newport’s three-year championship run in the process. The Eagles had two individual champions in sophomore Hodge Dauler (500 free) and junior Akira Van de Groenedaal (100 back), capping their title by winning the 400 free relay.
Churchill girls swimming
The Churchill girls swim team scored 60 points to claim the 5A state title with first-place finishes in six of the day’s 11 races. Kylie Taylor doubled up in the 200-yard medley and backstroke, Kelsey Wasikowski won the breastroke and Lauren Larsen won the 200 free. The Lancers also teamed up to win the medley and distance freestyle relays.
Cleveland wrestling
The Warriors earned an eighth consecutive district title, amassing 101 more points than runner-up Grant while winning four weight classes and advancing a PIL-best 12 wrestlers directly to state.
Crescent Valley boys swimming
The Crescent Valley boys swim team scored 65 points to claim the 5A state title, scoring points in nine of the day’s 11 events. The Raiders highlighted their title run with first-place finishes in the medley and distance freestyle relays. Crescent Valley filled three of the top four spots in the distance free, led by Caz Mikula in second place.
David Douglas wrestling
The Scots, with five district champions and 11 direct qualifiers to state, amassed 336 points in winning the Mt. Hood championship.
De La Salle North boys basketball
De La Salle North (21-2) toppled Westside Christian 56-54 in the title game of the Lewis & Clark league tournament Saturday in a battle of the top two teams in the OSAA’s 3A rankings.
Gladstone boys basketball
Gladstone (14-6) secured the Tri-Valley title with back-to-back home wins over fellow contenders Corbett and Molalla. Cohen Daves hit the go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute of the Gladiators’ 50-46 win over Corbett on Tuesday.
Grant boys basketball
Grant (17-3) extended its win streak to six games with home wins over Ida B. Wells and Roosevelt and finished the week atop the PIL standings.
La Salle Prep girls basketball
La Salle Prep (12-5) knocked off Northwest Oregon Conference leader Wilsonville 55-39 on Monday night, getting a game-high 24 points from Mia Skoro.
Lake Oswego boys swimming
Lake Oswego boys swimming totaled 97.5 points to win the 6A state title by more than 25 points. The Lakers won the medley and sprint freestyle relays, while coming in second in the distance free tag-team race. Lake Oswego put three on the podium in the 50-yard freestyle, paced by Tylor Kim’s second-place finish.
Lakeridge girls basketball
Lakeridge (18-4) stayed alone atop the Three Rivers League with a 51-49 win at fellow contender Oregon City on Thursday.
Madras girls basketball
Madras (14-7) remained perfect in the Tri-Valley, securing the league title with a 58-55 home win over Corbett on Friday.
Mountainside wrestling
Led by three-time district champion Evan Dooley (195) and three first-time winners, Mountainside won its second Metro team title in three seasons in a close race with last spring’s champion, Westview.
Newberg wrestling
The Newberg wrestling team piled up 572 points to win the Pacific Conference district tournament. The Tigers crowned champions in 12 of the 14 weight classes, and six times the bracket final featured two Newberg wrestlers squaring off. The Tigers totaled 50 pins — twice as many as the next nearest team.
Oregon Episcopal girls basketball
Oregon Episcopal (12-9) won the Lewis & Clark tournament with a 47-42 victory over regular-season champion Riverdale on Saturday. The Aardvarks take a seven-game win streak into the 3A playoffs.
Ridgeview girls basketball
Ridgeview (16-6) stayed alone atop the Intermountain Conference with league wins over The Dalles and Hood River to run the Ravens’ win streak to seven games.
Roseburg wrestling
The Roseburg wrestling team scored 452.5 points to win the Southwest Conference district tournament. The team crowned seven weight-class champions, led by Gage Singleton, who spent less than three minutes on the mat on his way to three pins in the 106-pound bracket. Roseburg finished with a tournament-best 38 pins.
Sherwood boys basketball
Sherwood (14-9) took command of the Pacific Conference chase with home wins over fellow contenders Century and Forest Grove, extending the team’s win streak to seven games.
South Salem girls basketball
South Salem (16-5) topped Mountain Valley leader West Salem 52-50 on Wednesday night, running its win streak to five games in the process.
Sprague wrestling
The Sprague wrestling team won the Mountain Valley district tournament with 363 points. The Olympians won more than half of the weight classes, crowning eight bracket champions. Brayden Boyd (120 pounds) pinned all four of his opponents — three in less than a minute. Sprague finished with a tournament-best 40 pins.
Summit boys basketball
Summit (21-0) remains the only unbeaten squad at 6A, locking down the Mountain Valley regular-season title with a 72-63 win at Sprague on Thursday. The Storm opened the week with a 61-42 win at crosstown rival Bend on Monday night.
Sweet Home girls swimming
Led by senior Chloe Tyler’s meet-record victory in the 100 backstroke in 56.49, Sweet Home won a fourth 4A/3A/2A/1A team title in the past six seasons. The Huskies opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay, and they had five individual champions (the Illinois State-bound Tyler added a second in the 100 free) and a second relay victory.
Westview girls swimming
Westview girls swimming totaled 94 points to claim the 6A state title by almost 20 points. The Wildcats scored points in all 11 races, led by Fay Lustria with wins in the 200-yard medley and 100 butterfly. The Wildcats also won the medley and distance freestyle relays.
Wilsonville boys basketball
Wilsonville (20-2) secured the Northwest Oregon title with a 63-55 home win over La Salle Prep on Monday. The Wildcats’ lead grew to more than 20 points during various stages of the third quarter.
