Jania Akins, Norcross girls basketball

Akins scored seven of her game-high 23 points and came up with several of her game-high seven steals during a 15-0 run that helped Norcross beat Archer for the region championship.

Dawson Campbell, Pope baseball

Campbell went 4-for-6 in the weekend series vs. Effingham County with two RBIs, a stolen base and a win on the mound in Game One.

Ryker Chavis, Houston County baseball

Chavis threw five perfect innings vs. Archer en route to a 10-0 victory.

Mason Compton, Flowery Branch baseball

Compton picked up the win in Flowery Branch’s home opener with eight strikeouts through four innings.

RJ Godfrey, North Gwinnett boys basketball

Godfrey dropped a game-high 28 points, while adding six rebounds and five assists.

Carley Haban, Rabun County girls basketball

Haban scored 17 points, along with eight rebounds and two assists to help Rabun County capture its first region title since 2019.

Jeremiah Holloway, Winder Barrow boys basketball

Holloway had a double-double of 25 points and 10 boards in the region tournament vs. Habersham Central.

Kiersten James, Etowah girls basketball

James hit the game-winner to take down Roswell and also had 19 points.

Druw Jones, Wesleyan baseball

Jones flashed his power at the plate vs. Greater Atlanta Christian, hitting two home runs and going 3-for-4.

Beth Murphy, Telfair girls basketball

Murphy had a triple-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 steals.

Shaun Nichols, Heritage boys basketball

Nichols had a game high for rebounds and scoring with 11 boards, 25 points, along with adding a team-high six assists.

Dennis Scott, Mount Vernon boys basketball

Scott dropped a game-high 23 points with seven made 3s in a blowout win over Wesleyan.

Carson Sewell, Carrollton baseball

Sewell pitched a shutout vs. top 25 opponent Troup County. Sewell gave up only three hits and had seven strikeouts.

Ben Stuart, North Oconee baseball

Stuart pitched four shutout innings with eight strikeouts vs. crosstown rival Oconee County.

Joseph Thomas, Portal boys basketball

Thomas scored a game-high 20 points as Portal defeated Jenkins County to become region champs.

Rett VanDeMark, HALO boys basketball

VanDeMark’s monster double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds, while adding five blocks, helped push HALO past Lafayette Christian.
