We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s North Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from Jan. 22-28 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selecteJad. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Levi Haynes, Lexington, Boys Wrestling

Haynes won a pair of matches in a tri-match at Charlotte Christian, giving him 121 victories for his career. Of those wins, 101 have been via pin.

Desmond Kent. Jr., Central Cabarrus, Boys Basketball

Kent scored 24 points on 11-of-12 shooting as the undefeated Vikings swamped South Rowan 88-17 for their 50thconsecutive win. The 6-foot-6 senior also had 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

Jalen Walker, North Stanly, Boys Basketball

Walker scored 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting, 3 rebounds and 6 assists in the Comets’ 78-67 win over Albemarle.

Priest Gywn, Reagan, Boys Wrestling

The Raider senior, competing at 190 pounds, picked up his 42nd win of the season and 100th of his career.

Oshauna Holland, Stuart Cramer, Girls Basketball

The sophomore point guard lit up the scoreboard for a career-high 49 points as Stuart Cramer overwhelmed Kings Mountain 78-19.

Parker Ridge, Ledford, Girls Swimming

The freshman standout won the 100 backstroke by a comfortable margin in the Mid-Piedmont Conference championship meet. Ridge was also second in the 50 free and a member of the Panthers’ third-place 200 free relay.

Trent Steinour, Lake Norman, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-10 junior center scored 17 points in the Wildcats’ 77-58 win over Hickory Ridge. Steinoour, who has nine college offers, averages 14.7 points. South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Penn State are among the schools making offers.

Autumn Washington, Ardrey Kell, Girls Basketball

Washington had a tremendous game with a school-record 37 points along with 16 rebounds as Ardrey Kell held off South Mecklenburg 63-57. The 5-foot-11 sophomore came in averaging 12 points per game.

Zamareya Jones, North Pitt, Girls Basketball

The North Carolina State signee scored 17 points in the Panthers’ 63-34 win over J.H. Rose. Jones has been selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American game.

Jamarion Wall, Richmond, Boys Basketball

Wall poured in 39 points, with most of that coming on a school-record 11 3-pointers as the Raiders swamped rival Scotland 84-51. The 6-foot senior guard averages 13.2 points per game.
