We have 10 players nominated this week for SBLive’s North Carolina Boys Basketball Player of the Week from Jan. 15-20 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:
Desmond Kent. Jr., Central Cabarrus
Kent scored 24 points on 11-of-12 shooting as the undefeated Vikings swamped South Rowan 88-17 for their 50thconsecutive win. The 6-foot-6 senior also had 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
Jalen Walker, North Stanly
Walker scored 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting, 3 rebounds and 6 assists in the Comets’ 78-67 win over Albemarle.
Trent Steinour, Lake Norman
The 6-foot-10 junior center scored 17 points in the Wildcats’ 77-58 win over Hickory Ridge. Steinoour, who has nine college offers, averages 14.7 points. South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Penn State are among the schools making offers.
Jamarion Wall, Richmond
Wall poured in 39 points, with most of that coming on a school-record 11 3-pointers as the Raiders swamped rival Scotland 84-51. The 6-foot senior guard averages 13.2 points per game.
Dominic Payne, Trinity
The 6-foot senior guard scored 27 points in a 71-63 win over Southwestern Randolph. Payne became the Bulldogs’ No. 3 all-time scorer with 2,069 points.
Timothy Brower, Eastern Randolph
Brower lit up the scoreboard for 31 points as the Wildcats overwhelmed Providence Grove 104-48. The 6-foot-2 junior guard is averaging 22.5 points and he has gone over 30 points four times.
Shemari Johnson, Rocky River
Johnson scored 24 points to help lead the Ravens to a 66-57 upset win over East Mecklenburg. The 6-foot-4 senior forward averages 15.3 points and 9.8 rebounds.
Grant Hamilton, Weddington
Hamilton posted a great all-around game with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots in a 73-58 win over Marvin Ridge. The 6-foot-2 guard leads his team 22.7 points per game.
Amare Bethel, Charlotte Country Day
Bethel had 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocked shots and 5 steals as the Buccaneers edged Charlotte Christian 47-45. The 6-foot-3 senior has committed to MSU-Denver.
Mez Coppedge, Greene Central
Coppedge had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots in a 71-61 win over North Pitt. The 6-foot-3 sophomore guard leads his team with 16.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
