We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s North Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from Feb. 26-March 2 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 9 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Isaiah Evans, North Mecklenburg, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-7 Duke recruit poured in 35 points, including five 3-pointers, as North Mecklenburg downed South Mecklenburg 79-61 in the second round of the 4-A state playoffs.

Trent Steinour, Lake Norman, Boys Basketball

Steinhour, a 6-foot-10 junior center with several major Division I college offers, had a dominant triple double of 27 points, 16 rebounds and 13 blocked shots in Lake Norman’s 100-77 win over East Forsyth in the second round of the state playoffs.

Jaydon Terrell, Chambers, Boys Basketball

Terrell was nearly perfect in making 10 of 11 field goal attempts as Chambers romped to an 83-43 win over Marvin Ridge in the second round of the state playoffs.

Elle Stone, Mallard Creek, Girls Basketball

Stone had 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 steals as Mallard Creek whipped Mount Tabor 80-45 in the second round of the state playoffs.

Kiara Anderson, East Lincoln, Girls Basketball

Anderson had a solid all-around game with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the Mustangs’ 53-48 win Freedom in the second round of the state playoffs.

Ava Monroe, St. Pauls, Girls Basketball

Monroe had 19 points and 9 rebounds as the Bulldogs stunned previously undefeated Southwest Onslow in the second round of the state playoffs.

Baines Raynor, East Duplin, Baseball

The sophomore standout had a major impact in East Duplin’s 7-2 victory over Richlands. Raynor was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and a pair of steals. On the mound, he allowed two hits with no earned runs while striking out eight in six innings.

Makenzie Goins, Richlands, Softball

This is what you call dominating. Goins fired a three-hitter with 17 strikeouts as the Wildcats blanked East Duplin 9-0. She also had a pair of RBIs.

Kenzie Ivey, Randleman, Softball

Ivey had a homer, triple, single and three RBIs in the Tigers’ 12-8 win over Richmond County.

Garrett Manning, Scotland, Baseball

Manning hurled a three-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Scots edged Purnell Swett 3-1.
