Over the past few weeks, we've been taking a look at some of the top baseball players in Ohio.

We started with the top first basemen, next up were the catchers, then shortstops, second basemen, third basemen and outfielders.

We started this week with the right-handed pitchers, and now we close with the left-handers.

There are hundreds of outstanding pitchers in Ohio, and these lists are not intended to be comprehensive! Tag us on Twitter or Instagram at @SBLiveOH and let us know about other athletes worthy of fans’ attention.

Note: Many high school baseball players excel at multiple positions. Don't be alarmed to see a slick-fielding first baseman listed here as a pitcher, for example.

Landon Beidelschies, Canfield, senior

As a junior last season, he earned honorable mention All-Ohio accolades as he was 9-1 with an ERA of just 0.41. The Ohio State commit struck out 91 hitters in 51 innings. In a game earlier this season, Beidelschies threw a no-hitter and struck out 13 in a 5-0 win over Oregon Clay.

Kayden Campbell, Fairfield, senior

Struck out 52 batters in 38.2 innings pitched last season and had an ERA of 0.90. The 6-foot-2 University of Louisville commit was named first-team all-city by the Southwest Ohio Baseball Coaches Association.

Joseph Dzierwa, Otsego, senior

Posted a record of 7-3 with an ERA of 2.05 last season, while striking out 115 hitters in 66.1 innings. His coach says the Michigan State commit “is a true competitor. He thrives on one-on-one matchups as a pitcher. He has excellent demeanor and focus on the mound.”

Trenton Fulkerson, Indian Lake, senior

He went 6-2 with a 1.20 ERA and 0.84 WHIP last season and struck out 65 hitters in 58 innings, while walking just nine. He started this season winning his first two outings without allowing a run in 12 innings.

Kam Garlock, Liberty-Benton, junior

As a sophomore, he was 5-1 with a 0.52 ERA in 40.1 innings. He struck out 61 hitters and allowed just 16 hits. At the plate, he hit .348 with 13 RBIs. His coach says Garlock “is a very competitive kid. Very smart pitcher and knows what pitches to throw when. Able to throw three different pitches for strikes. Anytime we put the ball in his hands we feel like we can win the game.”

Brenden Garula, Mason, senior

Earned honorable mention all-Ohio honors last season with a record of 6-2 and a 1.74 ERA. In 56.1 innings pitched, he struck out 88 hitters. When he was at the plate, he hit .319 with two homers. He is a University of Cincinnati signee.

Braeden Goulet, Wapakoneta, senior

The University of Findlay commit struck out 47 hitters in 35 innings last season while compiling an ERA of 2.00. He improved his strikeout numbers from his freshman year and has improved them again this year, fanning an average of two hitters per inning pitched through his first eight innings.

Drew Graham, Avon Lake, sophomore

The top-ranked player in the 2024 class by Prep Baseball Report, the 6-1 lefty was named the player of the game in last year’s PBR Futures Game, tossing two shutout innings with four strikeouts.

Colton Hartman, Lebanon, junior

After going 4-2 with a 1.69 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 29 innings as a sophomore, the junior has started off even stronger this season with 32 strikeouts in 19 innings. The 6-foot-3 lefty is committed to the University of Louisville.

Logan Moore, Bloom-Carroll, senior

Went 8-3 with a 1.64 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP last season as a junior. In the biggest two starts of the season, Moore threw a shutout in the regional finals, allowing just three hits and then turned around to pick up a win in the state semifinals while allowing zero runs and just five hits in 6.2 innings pitched.

Landon Price, Lincolnview, senior

Was named first-team all-Ohio last year with a record of 11-0 and a miniscule 0.17 ERA, striking out 162 hitters in 80.2 innings pitched. He also hit .470 at the plate with nine doubles. His coach says, “What makes Landon special is his pitchability on the mound. His calm and competitive demeanor shows when he is out there pitching.” He is committed to Ohio State.

Tre Rex, Harrison Central, junior

The 6-foot-3 junior has already tossed a no-hitter this season. In that game, he struck out 15 hitters in seven innings. His coach says “he has a high ceiling and has a ton of room to grow. Will be a big-time arm.”

Noah Samol, Mason, senior

The Georgia Tech commit did not pitch last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery but has come back this season and has struck out 25 hitters in his first 9.1 innings pitched. The 6-foot-7 Samol has a fastball that has reached the mid-90s and is listed as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Ohio by PBR, even having not pitched last season.

Kellen Sandhas, Cincinnati Elder, senior

Helped pitch Elder to the Division I state championship game last season. He was 5-2 with a 2.17 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched. The 5-10 lefty is committed to Thomas More University.

RJ Shunck, Evergreen, senior

The University of Toledo commit started the season with a shutout over Archbold while striking out eight and allowing just two hits. At 6-foot-6 and throwing the ball in the mid-80s, the senior has improved each year.

Thomas Simon, Milan Edison, senior

He was 8-1 with a 1.21 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 52.2 innings pitched as a junior to be named honorable mention all-Ohio in Division III. He can also play the outfield or first base for the Chargers.

Andrew Trybus, New Albany, senior

He went 5-0 last season with an ERA of 1.86 in 25.1 innings pitched. He started his high school varsity career with a perfect game against Westland when he struck out seven hitters in the 13-0 five-inning contest. In a state semifinal win over Walsh Jesuit, he pitched 1.2 innings in relief and struck out three hitters.

Joey Valentine, Medina, senior

The 6-foot-2 Wright State commit opened this season with four no-hit innings in Myrtle Beach in a 10-0 win. He also threw five innings in a 1-0 win over Mentor, striking out eight hitters. The hard-throwing lefty gets his fastball up to 90 mph.

Aiden Weiland, Revere, senior

Went 6-1 last season with an 1.41 ERA in 50 innings pitched, striking out 54 while walking only nine. His coach says the University of Findlay commit is “the crafty lefty who understands how to pitch. He is a bulldog on the mound and is constantly working to improve. He was our starter in all of our big games last season and will do the same again this year. His leadership has been a valuable asset to the rest of our pitchers on the team.”

Ryan Yingst, Lima Perry, senior

He struck out nearly two batters per inning last season, with 85 strikeouts in 44.1 innings pitched while compiling a 0.95 ERA. The Tiffin University commit has done more of the same at the start of this season with 22 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched and has allowed just one earned run and two hits.
