Upper Arlington gets season started with win over Reynoldsburg

The Golden Bears rolled to a 35-6 win to start the season 1-0

UPPER ARLINGTON, OH The Upper Arlington Golden Bears cruised to a 35-6 victory over Reynoldsburg in both teams’ season opener on Friday at Marv Moorehead Memorial Stadium.

Tommy Janowicz led the Golden Bears’ offense by completing 11 of 13 passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions, and rushing for 45 yards on eight carries. The senior quarterback tossed an 18-yard scoring strike to Wally Swiney and a 10-yard touchdown pass to Trent Wolpert.

Kyle Cox also was 4-for-6 passing for 45 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown pass to Austin Stutz, while running back Jack Ubert ran for 69 yards and a score on 12 attempts and running back Connor McClellan rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Leading Reynoldsburg were running back Cameron Turner (121 yards on 14 carries) and quarterback Jarin Mock, who was 12-for-26 passing for 139 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to SirRece Weaver.
