Youngstown Ursuline remains perfect with win over Austintown Fitch

Quarterback Jack Ericson accounted for three touchdowns for Ursuline

Youngstown Ursuline started things off right from the opening kick in a 32-14 win over Austintown Fitch Friday night.

Jy'Quise Liason started the game for the fighting Irish by taking the opening kickoff to the end zone for a touchdown to make it 6-0.

Quarterback Jack Ericson scored twice on the ground and threw one touchdown pass for Ursuline, the No. 8 team in this week’s SBLive Ohio Power 25.

Ericson gave the Fighting Irish a 12-0 lead in the first quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run but Dan Evans returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to get Fitch on the board.

In the second quarter, Ericson hit DC Ferrell on a 48-yard pitch-and-catch for a touchdown to give the Fighting Irish a 19-7 halftime lead.

The Falcons battled back when the defense recovered a a fumble and running back DJ Williams paid it off with a 5-yard score to cut the Ursuline lead to 19-4 in the third quarter.

But another Ericson touchdown scamper - this one a highlight-reel 26-yarder in which he jumped over a falling defender - and a 6-yard touchdown run by Christian Lynch sealed the win for the Fighting Irish.
