Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Ohio high school Athlete of the Week for December 17-23. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Elise Bender, Anthony Wayne girls basketball

Joined the 1,000 career points club and dropped 26 points as the Generals took down Dublin Coffman 79-49. The team’s 79 points set a program record for most points in a game.

Emily Bratton, Bloom-Carroll girls basketball

Went hot from the 3-point goal line, sinking six 3-pointers and finishing with 31 points in a 56-19 win over Berkshire.

Meg Campbell, Massillon Jackson girls basketball

 In a win over GlenOak, the senior not only scored a career-high 22 points, but she hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Polar Bears the victory. 

TJ Crumble, Richmond Heights boys basketball

Scored 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists to secure an 87-55 win over Mariner (Florida) at the City of Palms Classic.

Dom Cruz, Canfield boys basketball

In a win over Collinwood on Friday, Cruz scored 37 points and set a new school record with 11 3-pointers.

Taylor Evans, Granville girls basketball

The sophomore guard led the Aces to a 49-33 victory over Lakewood with a game-high 18 points.

Derron Gray, Africentric boys basketball

Dropped 19 points and recorded four assists and four steals in an 89-29  win over Independence.

Alyssa Horsley, Teays Valley girls basketball

Scored 23 points and hit three 3-pointers to help defeat Grove City 53-40 at the annual Jeff Sheets Holiday Classic.

Quinn “Turtle” Kwasniak, Cornerstone Christian Academy boys basketball

Despite the Patriots going 0-2 for the week, Kwasinak put on a show. The junior guard scored 25 points (including six 3-pointers) in a 76-55 loss to Wayne Memorial (Michigan) and scored 40 points in a 61-58 loss at Shaw to reach 1,500 career points.

Favor McFadden, Pickerington North boys basketball

Led all scorers with 20 points in a dominant 62-30 victory against Westland.

Ky’Aira Miller, Purcell Marian girls basketball

The junior guard posted a game-high 20 points in a 71-29 victory over Beavercreek.

Jonathan Powell, Centerville boys basketball

Had 27 points in the Elks’ 82-63 victory over Miamisburg.

Reese Roggenburk, Magnificat girls basketball

Roggenburk finished with a team-high 16 points to help the Lady Blue Streaks  beat Copley 58-42.

Luke Sanders, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy boys basketball

Poured in 20 points to pace the Eagles to a 72-51 win against Madeira.

Amare Spiva, Pickerington Central boys basketball

Led the Tigers to a 2-0 record for the week, dropping 17 points each in victories over Central Crossing (67-49) and St. Francis DeSales (72-54).

Charlei Stenger, Sandy Valley girls basketball

The freshman paced the Cardinals to a 61-51 victory at Claymont with her first career double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Addy Tweed, Marysville girls basketball

Scored a career-high 18 points to help the Monarchs defeat Bishop Watterson 51-37.
