It’s the beginning of the two best weekends of the year for Oklahoma high school basketball fans.

The Class A and B state tournaments begin this week, with 2A through 6A schools playing their area-round games this weekend. And while there might not be much movement in this week’s rankings, there were some surprises over the weekend to move some teams down in (or out of) the rankings.

For example, Vanoss, ranked No. 24 last week, was eliminated in the Class A area round, unable to make it to the state tournament. Meanwhile, Putnam City North, Bixby and Westmoore all lost in the regional round, but could still make the state tournament if each can make it through the consolation bracket.

Here are this week’s SBLive Oklahoma Top 25 boys basketball rankings.

Broken Arrow beat Tulsa Union for the regional title and remained unbeaten. The Tigers play Owasso for the area championship this week.

2. Dale (28-0); last week (3)

3. Edmond North (22-2); last week (4)

Edmond North moves up a spot, but it wasn’t easy. The Huskies had to outlast Mustang in overtime, 66-63. They now play a tough Choctaw team for an area championship.
