As the weather warms up, the golf courses are beginning to fill up and the high school golf season is heating up.

With the season beginning to wind down, we take a look at some of the best boys and girls golfers from across the state.

There are hundreds of standout golfers in Oklahoma, and these lists are not intended to be comprehensive. Let us know about other golfers throughout the state worthy of fans' attention in 2023.

Sam Morris, Jr., Jenks

After finishing fourth individually at the Class 6A state championship last year, Morris has gotten off to a great 2023 season. His most impressive effort is a 5-under round at Southlakes Golf Course earlier this year, which his team was the host.

Lily Stanton, Sr., Jenks

In a competitive Class 6A state tournament, Stanton was one stroke away from winning the state title. As a senior, she has shown the competitive spirit it will take to win that title in 2023, as she has been in contention at every tournament so far.

Vote now: Who should be SBLive's Oklahoma high school athlete of the week?

Peyton Coburn, Jr., Bishop Kelley

Coburn is not only the first high school female to receive an NIL deal across the state, but she backs her play up on the course. As a sophomore, she took first place at Bailey Ranch Golf Course by shooting a 77.

Bo Burton, Sr., Edmond North

A year ago, Burton earned a top 10 finish in the Class 6A state tournament and is showing that he is poised for more this year. As his team recently placed second at the conference tournament, Burton took first place and was named to the all-conference team.

Grant Gudgel, Jr., Stillwater

Gudgel returns as the defending Class 6A state champion and is poised to repeat in 2023. Gudgel, along with three other Pioneer golfers, were named to the all-conference team, a championship which they won.

Lucy Darr, Jr., Stillwater

Darr was just off the mark of winning the Class 6A title, but has made tremendous strides for a Lady Pioneer team that is poised to make a run at winning the team title in 2023.

Darr also finished first at the conference tournament and was named to the all-conference team.

Will Hennessee, Jr., Bishop Kelley

The Comets recently placed second at the Bishop Kelley Invitational at LaFortune Park and the junior placed first, shooting an impressive 67.

Most importantly, Bishop Kelley won first place at the Territory Golf Course and Country Club, which is where the Class 5A state championship will be held. Hennessee shot a 69 at that course.

Gunner Hamon, Sr., Altus

Hamon won the Class 5A state title as a junior by four strokes last year and he is going for title number two this year.

He is a talented multi-sport athlete, as he was also named to the all-state swim team this year.

Natalie Blonien, Jr., Altus

There must be something in the water in Altus, as Blonien also excels in swimming, but shines the brightest on the golf course. She will also be looking for her second consecutive state title this year.

Both Hamon and Blonien have been playing well in 2023, and appear to be the ones to beat heading into the Class 5A state tournament.

Koehn King, Jr., Tuttle

After a solid 2022 season, King has made tremendous strides this year and recently won his first tournament as an individual, shooting a 77 at a tournament at the Fort Sill golf course in Lawton.

Nathan Womack, Sr., Elk City

Womack finished in a tie for second at the 2022 Class 4A state championship and after working hard over the summer, the senior is averaging an 18-hole average of 73.5 in tournament play and is expected to be one of the favorites to win it this year.

Gabby Hack, So., Marlow

As a sophomore, Hack is following in her sister’s footsteps, who signed to play collegiately at Southern Nazarene University.

She finished third at state last year and has put together an impressive 2023 resume so far.

Bliss Newton, Jr., Lone Grove

After a fifth-place finish at the state championship in 2022, the Lady Longhorns are out for more in 2023.

Newton recently shot a 69 at the Firelake Golf Course in Tecumseh and led her team to a first-place finish.

Parker Pogue, Jr., Latta

The Latta golf team is looking to repeat as Class 2A state champions after winning in convincing fashion a year ago.

It was Pogue leading the way in the state championship, shooting a three-day total of 229. He is on a roll once again this year, as he was recently crowned medalist by shooting a 75.

Jaci Hartman, Jr., Turner

Not many people know about the Turner golf program, but the Lady Falcons have been dominant for several years. The junior led the way in last year’s state tournament, finishing second with a two-day total score of 150.

Hartman was most recently the top finisher at the Max Williamson Invite, a tournament in which the Lady Falcons won.

Spencer Bullen, Jr., Nowata

As a sophomore, Bullen led his team to a state tournament appearance in 2022 and he is poised to do so once again this year.

He has consistently shot in the 70s throughout the year and shot a 71 at regionals last year, earning his team a spot in the state tournament.
