Congratulations to Tigard softball catcher Karen Spadafora for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon High School Athlete of the Week for March 21-27!

The junior homered two times and knocked in six runs in the Tigers’ 12-3 win over Sunset.

Spadafora ran away with this week's honor, receiving 75.5% of the total vote.

Nathan Baker, Mazama baseball

Baker homered and singled in an 11-7 win over Dallas, and he doubled twice and drove in three in a 9-5 victory against Crescent Valley.

Molly Blanchette, Sheldon softball

Blanchette pitched a five-inning one-hitter (six strikeouts, no walks) in the Irish’s 10-0 win over Glencoe. She had three hits in their 12-6 win over Henley.

Jack Caswell, Nelson baseball

Caswell had five RBIs in the Hawks’ 13-3 victory against Roosevelt.

Ryan Cooney, Jesuit baseball

Cooney homered, singled and drove in three to help the Crusaders cruise past Hillsboro for a 10-0 victory.

Olivia Davies, Sunset softball

In a 15-1 rout of Liberty, Davies had three hits and three RBIs and struck out 11 batters in five innings. She had two hits and an RBI in an 8-6 win over Camas.

Sadie Guyette, Tualatin softball

Guyette had two hits, two runs and four RBIs in the Timberwolves’ 15-0 rout of St. Helens. She went 3 for 3 in a 13-1 win over Beaverton.

Bryce Hamerl, Tillamook baseball

Hamerl had four RBIs as the Cheesemakers notched their first win of the season, 8-6 over Madras.

Ashlyn Lueker, Mazama softball

Lueker doubled, tripled and drove in three in the Vikings’ 10-0 win over North Bend.

Ian Umlandt, Sherwood baseball

Umlandt homered, scored three runs and knocked in five in the Bowmen’s 16-4 rout of Grand Junction in Arizona. He went 3 for 4 in a 15-7 victory over Doherty. 

Jon Wiese, Newport baseball

Wiese’s monster performance at the plate — grand slam, seven RBIs — helped power the Cubs to a 10-1 victory over Cottage Grove, Newport’s sixth consecutive win to open the season.
