Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for Nov. 20-27 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Cascade Christian football

The Challengers won their second consecutive state crown, and fifth since 2006, besting Banks 34-24 in the Class 3A title tilt at Cottage Grove High School. Senior Ashton Moody had a huge game for Cascade Christian, running for 158 yards and two touchdowns and passing for 149 yards and another score on offense in addition to having two sacks and a fumble recovery on defense.

Central Catholic football

The Rams claimed their second state championship in the past three years, beating Tualatin 49-21 in the Class 6A title game at Hillsboro Stadium. Central Catholic senior quarterback Cru Newman completed 19 of 24 passes for 346 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 96 yards and two more scores.

Echo football

The Cougars rallied from an early deficit to post a 47-40 victory over Joseph in the Class 1A 6-man state championship contest at Hermiston High School. Senior Dom Curiel had a strong all-around performance for Echo, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, completing 12 of 14 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns, catching two passes for 27 yards and having an interception on defense.

Henley football

The Hornets won their first state championship since 1982, downing Marist Catholic 42-28 in the Class 4A state title contest at Caldera High School in Bend. Henley sophomore quarterback Joseph Janney came up big, having 19 rushes for 180 yards and four touchdowns and completing 13 of 20 passes for 133 yards and another score.

Lost River football

The Raiders won for the 20th consecutive game, and they earned their second consecutive state title, defeating Crane 30-20 in the Class 1A 8-man championship game at Caldera High School in Bend. Lost River senior quarterback Chase McAuliffe completed 12 of 15 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 101 yards and two more scores.

Lowell football

The Devils won their first state championship, running to a 74-42 win over Weston-McEwen/Griswold in the Class 2A final at Hillsboro Stadium. Junior running back JaMar Thurman had 266 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 29 carries.

Sunset football

The Apollos won the second Class 6A Columbia Cup title, topping South Medford 34-21 at Cottage Grove High School. Sunset senior quarterback Drew Nees completed 22 of 25 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns in addition to having an interception on defense.

Tualatin football

The Timberwolves, playing in their second state title game in the past three years, jumped out to a 21-14 second-quarter lead, but, hurt by injuries and a strong performance by Central Catholic, they fell 49-21 to the Rams in the Class 6A final at Hillsboro Stadium. Tualatin senior tight end Jayden Fortier had seven catches for 85 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game late in the second quarter because of injury.

Weston-McEwen/Griswold football

The TigerScots reached the final for the second year in a row, but they fell 74-42 to Lowell in the Class 2A state championship game at Hillsboro Stadium. Senior quarterback Easton Berry completed 15 of 24 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns in the loss.

Wilsonville football

The Wildcats earned their first state title since 2004, besting Mountain View 29-23 in the Class 5A state championship game at Hillsboro Stadium. Wilsonville senior quarterback Kallen Gutridge completed 18 of 29 passes for 291 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 87 yards.
