Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for Dec. 4-10 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Barlow boys basketball

The Bruins downed Grant 53-45 and then they topped defending Class 6A state champion Tualatin 69-59 to win the championship at the Barlow Trail Classic Tournament at Barlow High School. Barlow junior guard Jalen Atkins scored 30 points for the Bruins in the title-game win over the Timberwolves.

Burns boys basketball

The Hilanders sprinted to a 61-53 victory at La Pine in a nonleague game, improving the team’s early-season record to 5-0. Senior Zane Perry-Kozeni scored a game-high 35 points in the win.

Camas Valley boys basketball

The Hornets claimed the championship at the Cow Creek Classic at Riddle High School. Camas Valley opened the tournament with a 60-32 win over McKenzie. The Hornets defeated the host team from Riddle 52-46 in the championship game. Camas Valley senior James Standley was named the tournament MVP.

Clackamas girls basketball

The defending Class 6A state champion Cavaliers got their season off to a flying start, topping South Medford 67-48 in a nonleague game at Clackamas High School. Junior forward Jazzy Davidson led the way for the Cavaliers with 38 points and 11 rebounds.

Corvallis girls swimming

The Spartans had first-place finishes in all 11 events as they dominated a four-team meet, which also included McKay, North Salem and Woodburn, held at the Osborn Aquatic Center. Corvallis had four girls, Marin Baker (500-yard freestyle, 100 backstroke), Piper Basham (200 individual medley, 100 backstroke), Liana Schaefer (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Raina Wang (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle), each triumph in two individual events.

Crater boys basketball

The Comets posted a 69-60 nonleague win at Willamette to improve to 5-0. Senior guard Ashton Acrey had 19 points, six assists and three steals to pace Crater. Senior forward Cody Dutkiewicz added a team-high 20 points, and junior guard/forward Kyle Bittle had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Creswell girls wrestling

The Bulldogs claimed the top spot at the Sutherlin Wrestling Classic at Sutherlin High School. Creswell had a team score of 96 points to finish first at the 12-team tournament. Sutherlin was second with 86. The Bulldogs boasted four individual champions in Paige Ledgerwood (112 pounds), Sabrina Vanpallen (128), Jannalyn Kruger (134) and Chantell Noffsinger (147).

Crook County girls wrestling

The Cowgirls scored 199 points to take first place at the 22-team Culver Girls Invitational at Culver High School. Lakeview finished in second place with a score of 114. Crook County boasted five individual champions in Taylor Echererria (112-119 pounds), Gretchen Fewell (122-128), MaKenna Duran (126-132), Adyson Harper (152-165) and Yiyana Sandoval (186-201).

Elmira boys basketball

The Falcons claimed the championship at the Rogue River Classic at Rogue River High School. Elmira opened the tournament with a 70-33 win over Sutherlin. The Falcons bested Glide 57-37 in the title tilt, with Easy Armstrong, Kyler Cowell and Gaven Grover each scoring 11 points.

Forest Grove girls basketball

The Vikings posted a 56-39 win at Mountainside and followed with a 58-40 home victory against Lakeridge to start the season 2-0. Senior guard Lauren Buchanan had 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals in the win over the Pacers.

Hermiston girls wrestling

The Bulldogs claimed the crown at the Rick Sanders Girls Invitational at Lincoln High School. Hermiston triumphed at the 15-team tournament with a score of 178 points. Mountainside finished second with 135 points. Hermiston crowned six individual champions in Lily Foreman (105 pounds), Elena Flores (135), Laura Meyers (155), Jaydan McKim (170), Kaiomi Morris (190) and Lindsey Perkins (235).

Hood River Valley wrestling

The Eagles soared to the championship at the Rick Sanders Invitational at Lincoln High School. Hood River Valley placed first in the 15-team tournament with a score of 191.5 points. Franklin finished second with 152. The Eagles had two individual champions in Leyton Adams at 132 pounds and Abelardo Gomes Gordian at 144.

Illinois Valley wrestling

The Cougars clawed their way to the championship at the Culver Invitational at Culver High School. Illinois Valley had a score of 217 points to claim first place at the 22-team event, edging second-place La Pine, which had a score of 206. The Cougars crowned three individual champions in James Conn (106 pounds), Micah Martinho (120) and Ryan Griffin (157).

Klamath Union girls basketball

The Pelicans started their season with a triumphant performance at the Les Schwab December Classic at Junction City High School. Klamath Union opened with a 63-38 win over Santiam Christian, with senior forward Keely Hall having 25 points and five rebounds. The Pelicans bested Junction City 61-29 in the championship game.

Marshfield wrestling

The Pirates battled their way to the championship at the Sutherlin Wrestling Classic at Sutherlin High School. Marshfield placed first in the standings at the 15-team event with a score of 113 points. Pleasant Hill was second with 74. Reese Hite won an individual title at 126 pounds.

Newberg wrestling

The Tigers powered their way to the title at the two-day Rose City Championships at Westview High School. Newberg topped the 27-team field with a score of 441.5 points. Sweet Home was second with 326. The Tigers crowned four individual champions in Isaac Hampton (126 pounds), Gavin Rangel (132), Brandon Smith (144) and Dillon Le (150).

Oakridge girls basketball

The Warriors sprinted to a 56-37 nonleague victory at South Umpqua to open the season 3-0. Senior guard/wing Sadie Snyder sank four 3-point baskets and scored 33 points to lead Oakridge.

Pendleton swimming

The Buckaroos triumphed at the Jay Rowan Relays in Redmond with a team score of 83 points. Klamath Union was second with a score of 81, and Redmond was third with 76. The Pendleton team of Blanca Botello Martin, Owen Burt, Sara Airoldi and Maryn Broker won the mixed 200-yard backstroke relay in a time of 2 minutes, 30.99 seconds.

Redmond girls wrestling

The Panthers triumphed at the North Bend Coast Classic at North Bend High School. Redmond had a score of 241 points to take first place at the 38-team tournament. McNary placed second with a score of 225.5. Two Panthers, Mia Pedersen at 125 pounds and MacKenzie Shearon at 155, won individual titles.

Regis boys basketball

The Rams recorded an 84-47 nonleague victory at East Linn Christian to start the season 3-0. Junior guard/wing Isaiah Koehnke scored a game-high 26 points, and senior post Rylan Bischoff added 22.

Vale girls basketball

The Vikings improved to 4-0, and to 3-0 against teams from Idaho, by notching a 51-35 home win against New Plymouth, Idaho. Sophomore Kelsey Stepleton led the way with 15 points. Senior Halle Peterson added 13 points.

West Albany boys swimming

The Bulldogs had first-place finishes in all 11 events as they triumphed at a three-team Mid-Willamette Conference meet at the Dallas Aquatic Center. West Albany took the top spot with 156 points. Central finished second with 35, and Dallas was third with seven. Conner Dickson and Kyle Milburn each won two individual events.

Willamette girls basketball

The Wolverines triumphed in a battle of unbeaten teams, topping Crater 54-34 in a nonleague contest at Willamette High School. Willamette, which improved to 3-0, was led by junior guard Brynn Smith, who scored a game-high 27 points.
