Isaiah Elohim on Kansas official visit: 'They really love basketball out there'

California's top-ranked 2024 boys basketball recruit caught up with SBLive Sports about his recruitment and his recent visit to the Kansas Jayhawks

Isaiah Elohim is one of the fastest-rising high school boys basketball recruits in the country.

The five-star Sierra Canyon shooting guard has picked up recent offers from Kansas State, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, and Michigan all in the past few months.

And just this past weekend, Elohim took his first official visit to the Kansas Jayhawks.

"What I liked most about the [Kansas] visit was the atmosphere and the people. They really love basketball out there and they show a lot of love. KU has a winning culture and rich history of that," Elohim told SBLive.

The 6-foot-6 190-pound junior shooting guard is currently ranked as California's No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2024 according to On3's Industry Rankings. He also is the nation's No. 3 shooting guard and No. 12 overall prospect.

In addition to Elohim's thoughts on his visit to Kansas, he also shared the latest on his college recruitment, and if there are any other top recruits he'd like to play with in college.

Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?

Elohim: "The schools recruiting me the hardest are: Kansas, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas State, UCLA, Michigan, Alabama, Michigan State, and Gonzaga."

Which college coach would you say you've formed the closest relationship with and why?

Elohim: "I have really good relationships with the coaches from all the schools that are recruiting me the hardest. I've probably had the longest relationship with the coaching staffs from Kansas, Baylor, Arkansas, and UCLA. But, as of recently, I've formed great relationships with Kansas State's coaching staff and Alabama's."

Is there any other player you'd like to play with in college?

Elohim: "There are a few that come to mind. I'm really close with Amier Ali and Tre Johnson. I could also see myself playing with Dedan Thomas or Yves Missi, they're all great players."
