Recruiting: A look at the top available 2024 Washington football prospects

The state of Washington has been on the rise developing future college football talent in recent years.

That push is currently highlighted by potential NFL first-round draft picks J.T. Tuimoloau (Ohio State; Eastside Catholic) and Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State; Steilacoom), but the talented alumni list is growing with every passing season. 

In the class of 2024, some of the top players in the state have already come off the board.

Bellevue four-star tight end Hogan Hansen is committed to Michigan, while Evergreen four-star offensive tackle Fox Crader is verbally pledged to Oregon, although he is taking other visits and quite clearly weighing his options.

Still, there's plenty of big-time talent available in the state of Washington.

Here's a look at the top uncommitted 2024 prospects in the state:

4-star linebacker Brayden Platt (Yelm) - The nation's No. 74 overall prospect and No. 8 linebacker is arguably the top prospect in the state, regardless of his commitment status.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound 'backer is an elite thrower in track and field and projects as a tone-setting tackler on the gridiron.

Platt has already taken an official visit to UCLA and has trips upcoming to Oklahoma (June 16) and Oregon (June 23).

He also holds offers from Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, USC and others.

Oklahoma and Oregon have been long-standing relationships with the Yelm star, and his upcoming June official visits could be crucial to his decision.

4-star running back Jason Brown (O'Dea) - Rated as a top-10 running back by all of the major recruiting services, it should come as no surprise that Jason Brown more than 20 scholarship offers.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound ball-carrier is scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State later this month, and has also previously expressed significant interest in Washington.

Still, his battle is difficult to predict and feels pretty open midway through June. 

4-star OL Isendre "Papa" Ahfua (O'Dea) - Isendre "Papa" Ahfua is the nation's No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the composite rankings and is coveted from coast-to-coast by major college programs. 

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound prospect moves well for his size and could take another major leap as he builds strength and hones his technique.

Fresh off a trip to Texas A&M, Ahfua is slated to visit Utah and Miami next, while he is also high on Auburn, Washington and others.

4-star DB Kyan McDonald (O'Dea) - A versatile four-star defensive back who could safety to nickel corner at the collegiate level, Kyan McDonald has kept his recruitment relatively tight-lipped.

He took an official visit to Texas A&M earlier this month and has also previously taken trips to Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, TCU and Washington. 

McDonald's recruitment should become much clearer in the coming weeks. 

4-star ATH Rahshawn Clark (Federal Way) - A talented two-way player whose future likely lies on the defensive side of the ball, Rahshawn Clark is scheduled to take an official visit to Cal later this month, and is also interested in Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and others. 

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back is in no rush to make a decision and make take fall visits before actually making a decision.

4-star DB Marquawn McCraney (Highline) - Marquawn McCraney is scheduled to take his first official visit to USC this weekend.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety is also interested in Oregon State, Washington, Washington State and others.

Still, McCraney's USC visit could prove to be a major moment in his recruitment. 

3-star QB E.J. Caminong (Garfield) - E.J. Caminong decommitted from Washington on Monday evening in a move many saw coming for several weeks.

The nation's No. 21 quarterback is fresh off an official visit to Texas A&M and has also taken multiple trips to Oregon State, developing a strong relationship with the staff.

Next up for Caminong are official visits to BYU and California.
