Oregon State's loss was Notre Dame's gain Friday morning on the recruiting trail.

Palma (California) three-star wide receiver Logan Saldate announced his flip from Oregon State to Notre Dame, giving the Fighting Irish their fourth pass-catcher in the class:

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver, rated the nation's No. 59 player at his position, originally committed to the Beavers in late May, but never fully locked in.

At the time, Saldate had multiple official visits still scheduled and intended to take those trips. He  was also adamant that he was still open to other offers.

In truth, much remained uncertain for Saldate, who was still weighing the possibilities of graduating early and competing in both football and track at the collegiate level.

Saldate, who runs a 10.8 100-meter time, finished second in the longjump at the CIF state meet with a mark of 25-5.5, a leap that would've won the Oregon 6A state championship by nearly three feet.

As a junior, the California product hauled in 54 receptions for 713 yards and nine touchdowns.

That production paired with his athleticism made him a hot commodity following his initial verbal commitment.

Now, he's South Bend-bound.

Saldate joins a Notre Dame 2024 recruiting class that has three other pass-catchers, highlighted by Glenbard South (Illinois) four-star wide receiver Cam Williams and Charlotte Christian (North Carolina) four-star playmaker Micah Gilbert.

Overall, Notre Dame's 21-man class is rated No. 9 nationally and is headlined by Saline (Michigan) signal-caller C.J. Carr, the nation's No. 4 quarterback
