Ellis Robinson IV, nation's No. 1 cornerback, discusses Georgia commitment following Miami visit

IMG Academy (Florida) five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV visited Miami over the weekend

Over the weekend, the Miami Hurricanes hosted an impressive collection of visitors for its double overtime victory over Clemson.

The headliner of that group may have been IMG Academy (Florida) five-star cornerback and Georgia Bulldogs commit Ellis Robinson IV.

While the 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back, rated the nation's No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 cornerback, has been committed to Georgia since February, he wanted to get a closer look at Miami.

"(I) had a good time," he said. "Great game to be at. I like the direction the program is going in under (Mario) Cristobal’s leadership."

So, was it enough to make him re-think his commitment to the Dawgs?

"(It's) gonna be a hard flip," he said.

In truth, Georgia has built a strong relationship to the elite cornerback and his connection to the program remains firmly cemented.

"It’s still 'Go Dawgs,' " he said.

It's possible that could change as the recruiting pressure ramps up, and Miami certainly gave Robinson something to think about with its thrilling win.

Not to mention, the Hurricanes have been known to pull off a recruiting surprise or two every recruiting cycle under Cristobal.

But Georgia seems to remain firmly in control with the elite defender.
