Carlon Jones previews finalists ahead of imminent decision

Bay City (Texas) four-star defensive lineman Carlon Jones will announce his decision Monday

It's decision day for Bay City (Texas) four-star defensive lineman Carlon Jones.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman intends to announce his decision Monday from a group of four finalists - Alabama, Ohio State, TCU and USC.

Jones, a former Nebraska pledge, joined SBLive Sports to explain what he likes about each of his finalists.

Alabama: "They are a team who has a chance to win national championship every year."

Ohio State: "Coach (Larry) Johnson is a very wise man at Ohio State. (I) went two weeks ago. They are definitely locked in when it comes to football."

TCU: "TCU is close to home and I like Coach (JaMarkus) McFarland a lot."

USC: "USC has a lot of networking capabilities and (Los Angeles) weather is great."

The Trojans received the final visit from Jones and it proved to be an "eye-opener."

"It was very good," he said. "The staff is very organized and they let me know how much they need me and how I could help the team."

Jone is rated the nation's No. 194 overall prospect and No. 17 defensive lineman in the class of 2024, making him the top uncommitted player at his position in America.

Of course, that won't be true for much longer.

One of four teams will be getting a gem.
