Knights beat Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls 62-59 in 1A regional round to book return trip to Yakima
LONGVIEW, Wash. — Giovanny Evanson saved his latest career night for when it mattered. The two-time 1A Trico League MVP scored 35 points as King's Way Christian beat Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls 62-59 on Saturday to book a trip to state.
Evanson hit all six free throw attempts in the game's final 30 seconds to help King's Way hang on. Senior guard Dayne Kreuch had a team-high 19 points for the Eagles.
The Knights (16-5) survived elimination and booked a first round 1A state tournament game against 4-seed Freeman on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. Lakeside's season ends at 16-10.
