Top 50 right handed pitchers from the 2022 Southern Section high school baseball season

From Notre Dame's Cole Clark to Orange Lutheran's Louis Rodriguez, the Southern Section was loaded with talented right handed pitchers this season.

With the 2022 Southern Section high school baseball season in the books, we're continuing to look at some of the Section's top players position by position from this past year. We started behind the plate, and then moved to first base, second base, shortstopthird base and then the outfield. Now we're onto right handed pitchers.

TOP 50 RIGHT HANDED PITCHERS IN SOUTHERN SECTION HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Julian Barajas - Arroyo - 2023

Barajas struck out 110 batters and posted a 1.04 ERA in his junior season. 

Aric Berg - Chaminade - 2022 

Ask any opposing coach whose team has gone up against Berg and they'll tell you that the Fordham signee was one of the most underrated arms in the Section this year. Berg posted a 0.86 ERA in 40 2/3 innings. 

Oliver Boone - Notre Dame - 2023

Boone began his junior season in the Notre Dame bullpen, but pitched so well that he worked his way up the depth chart to earn a spot in the Knights starting rotation. Boone threw a complete game shutout in Notre Dame's 2-0 Division 1 Southern Section semifinal win over Huntington Beach to give the Knights their first Division 1 championship appearance in school history. 

Tommy Bridges - Harvard-Westlake - 2024

Bridges was the Wolverines ace this season. He went 8-1 with a 1.98 ERA striking out 66 batters in 63 2/3 innings. 

Zachary Brown - Villa Park - 2023

Brown developed a reputation for playing well in the clutch this season whether at the plate or on the mound. He helped lead the Spartans to a Boras Classic championship thanks to hitting a walk-off home run against Servite and then pitching a complete game in a 2-1 win over Notre Dame. Overall, Brown hit .297 at the plate in 2022 with 30 hits. On the hill, he went 5-2 with a 2.96 ERA. 

Frank Camarillo - Moreno Valley - 2022 

Camarillo is a UC Santa Barbara signee. He went 9-1 with a 1.86 ERA this spring. 

Cole Clark - Notre Dame - 2022 

Clark, an LMU signee, went 8-2 with 1.68 ERA this spring. He was the Knights' top pitcher.  

Joshua Donegan - Los Alamitos - 2023

Donegan is committed to Long Beach State. He got the start in the Griffins 3-2 Division 1 playoff loss to Harvard-Westlake. He allowed three runs in five innings. 

Brady Ebel - Etiwanda - 2025

Ebel, the son of Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel, was named MVP of the Baseline League after putting together a season where he hit .330 with five home runs, 35 hits and 36 RBI's. On the mound, he recorded a 0.32 ERA and won six games. 

Michael Ebner - Maranatha - 2022

Ebner is committed to USC. He posted a 6-2 record with a 2.80 ERA in his senior season. 

Carter Elliott - Yucaipa - 2023

Elliott is committed to Arizona State. He struck out 10 in an 8-0 win over Redlands and also threw a complete game with another 10 strikeouts in a 4-1 win over Cajon this spring. 

Anthony Eyanson - Lakewood - 2022

Eyanson was named the co-Moore League Pitcher of the Year in his senior season. 

Ryan Farrell - Ojai Valley - 2022

According to the Ojai Valley News, "Ryan Farrell had one of the best baseball seasons of any Ojai player in recent memory this spring." He went 9-0 with a 1.07 ERA. He also struck out 83 batters in only 46 innings. At the plate, Farrell batted .558. 

Jameson Ferraro - Crescenta Valley - 2022

Ferraro is committed to Nevada. He retired 16 batters in a row in Crescenta Valley's 2-0 first round Division 2 playoff win over South Hills. 

Hauze Fragoso - Warren - 2022

Fragoso excelled at the plate and on the mound in his senior year for Warren. He threw four scoreless innings and struck out nine in the Bears' San Gabriel Valley League clinching 9-1 win over Downey. 

Dylan Goff - Etiwanda - 2023

Goff put the cherry on top of a great season in Etiwanda's 6-1 Division 2 championship win over Torrance when he threw a complete game striking out nine. On the season, Goff went 12-0 with a 0.73 ERA. He had 93 strikeouts. 

Tyler Gough - JSerra - 2022 

Gough closed out JSerra's 3-1 Division 1 championship win over Notre Dame and threw six scoreless innings in the Lions' Division 1 CIF State regional championship defeat to Huntington Beach. The Oregon State signee finished the season with a 0.48 ERA. 

Grant Govel - Palos Verdes - 2023

Govel is committed to USC. He had a 2.51 ERA in his junior season. 

Trevor Hansen - Royal - 2023

Hansen struck out 97 batters in 61 2/3 innings this season for Royal. He ended the season with a 2.27 ERA. 

Ian Hoffstetter - Arcadia - 2023

Hoffstetter was voted a Division 1 All-Southern selection by the D1 coaches this season. He went 10-1 on the year with a 0.82 ERA in 76 2/3 innings. 

JJ Hollis - JSerra - 2023 

Hollis, SBLive's 2022 Southern Section Player of the Year, went 9-0 with a 1.01 ERA this spring. He threw 63 1/3 innings striking out 54 batters. Hollis is committed to UC Santa Barbara. 

David Horn - JSerra - 2022 

Horn's Division 1 Southern Section semifinal performance against Villa Park gets him on this list. The Vanderbilt signee gave up one run on four hits in six innings in a 4-1 Lions' win. Overall, Horn went 4-2 with a 4.04 ERA in his senior year. 

Andrew Johnson - Capistrano Valley Christian - 2024

Johnson posted a 1.38 ERA in 25 1/3 innings this season. 

Jack Kirrer - Mater Dei - 2022

Kirrer is a Cal signee. The senior struck out 13 in a 4-2 win over Santa Margarita this spring. 

Justin Lee - Notre Dame - 2023

Lee is committed to UCLA. 

Matthew Lopez - Huntington Beach - 2022

Lopez had a tremendous season for the Oilers and Northern Kentucky University took notice when they offered the senior a scholarship last month. Lopez threw seven scoreless innings in Huntington Beach's 2-0 Division 1 CIF State regional championship win over JSerra earlier this month. 

Matthew Lorenzano - South Hills - 2022

Lorenzano is committed to Long Beach State. He struck out 81 batters this season and posted a 1.49 ERA. 

Isaiah Magdaleno - Crespi - 2023

Magdaleno was named the Mission League Pitcher of the Year this season after leading Crespi to wins over Harvard-Westlake and Notre Dame and going 5-0 in the league overall. On the season, Magdaleno went 6-0 with a 0.91 ERA in 46 innings. 

Max Martin - Sierra Canyon - 2022 

Martin is a UC Irvine signee. He posted a 0.304 ERA in 23 innings this season. 

Mason McGwire - Capo Valley - 2022

McGwire is a University of Oklahoma signee. 

Cole Miller - Newbury Park - 2023 

Miller is a UCLA commit. He had a 2.28 ERA in 43 innings this season. 

Evan Miranda - Orange Lutheran - 2023

Miranda is committed to the University of Texas. He went 5-0 with a 1.24 ERA this season. 

Luke Mistone - Bonita - 2022 

Mistone signed his LOI with Cal State Fullerton. The senior posted a 1.11 ERA this season. 

Andrew Mits - Estancia - 2024

Mits was named the Division 6 Southern Section Player of the Year this spring. He went 11-4 with a 0.65 ERA. 

Ryan Mullan - Damien - 2023

Mullan is an LMU signee. He threw a complete game in an 8-1 win over Rancho Cucamonga earlier this season. 

Cade Nolan - Aquinas - 2022

Nolan went 10-0 with a 1.25 ERA in 61 2/3 innings this season. 

Jaden Noot - Sierra Canyon - 2022 

Noot was ridiculous in 2022. The LSU commit went 10-0 with a 0.216 ERA and 94 strikeouts.

Andrew Parker - Foothill - 2023

Parker finished the season with a 7-1 record and 2.09 ERA. 

Lukas Pirko - Vista Murrieta - 2023

Pirko went 7-2 with a 2.92 ERA in 62 1/3 innings in his junior season. 

Logan Reddemann - Quartz Hill - 2023

Reddemann is committed to the University of San Diego. He went 11-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 67 1/3 innings this season. 

Louis Rodriguez - Orange Lutheran - 2022 

Rodriguez, a TCU signee, ended the season with an 8-1 record and a 1.43 ERA. He struck out 70 batters in 53 2/3 innings.

Charlie Royal - Wilson - 2022

Royal was named the co-Moore League Pitcher of the Year in his senior season. He struck out 91 batters in 2022. 

Jack Smith - Huntington Beach - 2022

Smith is committed to Cal State Northridge. In the Oilers 9-2 Division 1 CIF State Southern Regional semifinal win over Villa Park, Smith threw a gem striking out 12 in 6 1/3 innings.

Ryan Speshyock - Dos Pueblos - 2023 

Speshyock is committed to Stanford. He posted a 0.74 ERA this season in 64 1/3 innings. 

Jack Svinth - Santa Margarita - 2023

Svinth, a Stanford commit, was Santa Margarita's top arm this year. The junior struck out 13 batters in a 2-1 Trinity League win over Mater Dei in March. He was named an All-Trinity League second team selection this spring. 

Cole Stokes - Redondo Union - 2023 

Stokes is committed to Oregon. He posted a 2.39 ERA this season. 

Zach Strickland - Maranatha - 2025

As a freshman, Strickland was one of the aces of Maranatha's staff this season. He's committed to UCLA. 

Seth Sumner - Damien - 2022

Sumner struck out 10 in an 8-0 win over Etiwanda earlier this season. The senior is a UC San Diego signee. 

Kassius Thomas - Sierra Canyon - 2022 

Thomas was having a fantastic senior year before an injury ended his season. The Duke signee struck out 50 batters in 30 2/3 innings. He finished the year with a 0.228 ERA and 4-0 record. 

Brynner Waiolama - North Torrance - 2023

Waiolama is one of the top uncommitted arms in the Section.
