Vote: Who is the South Suncoast Baseball Player of the Week (3/12/2024)?
The Florida High School Baseball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.
As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Suncoast Florida high school baseball player of the week award from March 4-March 9, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 17th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominees:
Jackson Bradley, Inspiration Academy: in a 6-3 win over FSBE Academy, Bradley, a junior pitcher, went four strong innings and allowed one hit, one run and fanned five batters.
RJ Cooper, Imagine School of North Port: Cooper, a junior shortstop, came up big in the team’s 15-4 win over IMG Academy White. The junior plated four runs off three hits, including a double.
Luke Verwey, Sarasota: In just over three innings of work, Verwey proved to make a difference in Sarasota’s 7-4 win over Lakewood Ranch. The junior allowed just one hit and fanned five batters.
Jayden Peters, Palmetto: Peters had the hit bat in the Tigers’ 7-1 win over Cardinal Mooney. The junior went 3-for-4, with a double and a run batted in.
Josiah Williams, Southeast: The senior had a huge night at the plate in the Seminoles’ 14-1 win over Sarasota Booker, driving in seven runs on four hits, including a double and a home run.
Dalton Hill, Charlotte: Hill pitched well in his five innings of work en route to the Fightin’ Tarpons 7-4 win over North Port. The senior allowed two hits, one run and struck out five.
Troy Guthrie, Parrish Community: Pitching a 1-0 perfect game gem against Braden River, Guthrie went seven innings, no hits, no runs, no walks and fanned 12 batters. Quite the outing.
Garrett Duquette, Bradenton Christian: The junior helped lift the Panthers’ to a 7-3 win over Saint Stephen’s Episcopal, tallying two hits, one being a triple, and driving in two runs.
