Braxton Brann, Ann Arbor Huron

Senior sprinter Braxton Brann showed his abilities for Ann Arbor Huron in their meets last week at the Farmington Invitational and against Ann Arbor Pioneer and Skyline. 

Against Pioneer and Skyline, Brann took first place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.13, first place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.16, and first place in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.64. 

At the Farmington Invitational, Brann took first place in the 200m run with a time of 21.25, marking a personal record and the fastest time in the state in that event, and first place in the 110m hurdles again with a time of 14.21.

Jaylin Townsend, Flint Beecher High School

Senior sprinter Jaylin Townsend was electric on the track for Flint Beecher at the Goodrich Invitational. 

Townsend finished in first place in the 100m dash with a time of 10.59, notching a personal record and the third fastest time in that event in the state of Michigan this year, and also took first place in the 200m run with a time of 21.45, marking another personal record and the second fastest time in the state this year in that event. 

Townsend would also participate in the 4x100 relay, contributing to a first place finish, and the 4x400 relay for a second place finish.

Michael Wright, Vicksburg High School

Senior sprinter Michael Wright had great performances for Vicksburg last week against Sturgis and Three Rivers, and at the JT Long Invitational at Kalamazoo Central. 

On Wednesday against Sturgis and Three Rivers, Wright finished first place in the 100m dash with a time of 10.64, marking a personal record and the third fastest time in the state in that event this year, first place in the 200m dash, and first place in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. 

At the JT Long Invitational, Wright would finish first place in the 100m dash, first place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.89, marking another personal record and the sixth fastest time in the state this year, second place in the 4x100 relay, and third place in the 4x200 relay.

Jacobe Oglesby, Detroit Martin Luther King High School

Senior printer Jacobe Oglesby had a good performance at the 12th Mark Carpenter Invitational. 

Oglesby took first place in the 100m dash with a time of 10.68, marking a personal record and the fourth fastest time in that event in the state this year.

Oglesby also competed in the 4x200 relay where he contributed to a first place finish.

Parker Orlowsky, Rochester Adams High School

Senior runner Parker Orlowsky showed out for Rochester Adams against Rochester and at the Farmington Invitational. 

Against Rochester on Wednesday, Orlowsky finished first place in the 1600m run, and contributed to first place finishes in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. 

At the Farmington Invitational, Orlowsky took first place in the 800m run with a time of 1:54.13, marking a personal record and the third fastest time in that event this year in the state, as well as first place in the 4x400 relay.

Taryn Henderson, Farmington Hills Mercy

Sophomore sprinter Taryn Henderson had a great performance for Farmington Hills Mercy at the Farmington Invitational. 

Henderson would finish in first place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.93, marking a personal record and the fastest time among the women's division in the state this year, and third place in the 200m run, marking another personal record. 

Henderson also participated in the 4x200 relay for a third place finish, and the 4x100 relay for a first place finish.

Joy Evans, Alma High School

Sophomore Joy Evans was everywhere on the track for Alma last week against Birch Run and at the 2023 Shepherd Blue Jay Invite. 

Against Birch Run, Evans finished in second place in the 800m run with a time of 2:30.96, marking a personal record, first place in the 4x100 relay, first place in the 4x400 relay, and first place in long jump with a leap of 14’ 5”. 

At the Shepherd Blue Jay Invite, Evans finished first place in the 200m dash with a time of 26.22, marking a personal record, first place in the 400m run with a time of 57.99, marking a personal record and eighth fastest time in that event in the state this year among the women’s division. 

Evans also participated in the 4x800 relay for a second place finish.

Madison Osterberg, Jackson Lumen Christi

Junior runner Madison Osterberg had herself a day against BC Harper Creek and Parma Western. 

Osterberg took first place in the 1600m run with a time of 4:54.27, marking a personal record and the third fastest time in the state in that event among the women’s division, and first place in the 3200m run with a time of 10:36.08, marking another personal record and the sixth fastest time in that event in the state this year among the women’s division. 

Osterberg also participated in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays for first place finishes in both.

Payton Scheffler, Woodhaven-Brownstown

Junior runner Payton Scheffler had good performances against Taylor and Trenton, and at the 23 Saline Golden Triangle. 

Against Taylor and Trenton, Scheffler took first place in the 400m run, 800m run, and the 4x200 relay. 

At the Saline Golden Triangle, Scheffler finished first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:12.84, marking a personal record and the sixth fastest time in that even this year in Michigan among the women’s division, and first place in the 4x200 relay.

Emmry Ross, Onsted High School

Sophomore runner Emmry Ross showed out for Onsted last week against Clinton and Ida, and at the Wildcast Booster Invite. 

Against Clinton and Ida, Ross finished first place in the 400m run, 800m run, 4x400 relay, and the 4x800 relay. 

At the Wildcat Booster Invite, Ross finished first place in the 400m run with a time of 56.85, marking a personal record and the third fastest time in Michigan in that event this year among the women’s division, first place in the 800m run, and second place in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
