The Florida Gators appear to be in line for good news Thursday, as two high-caliber defensive backs are set to announce their commitments.

And both are expected to choose a future in Gainesville.

Milton High School (Georgia) safety Bryce Thornton has been down to a final two of Alabama and Florida for some time and will be announcing his decision at 3:15 p.m. ET/12:15 p.m. PT.:

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound defensive back is rated the nation's No. 45 safety, but he holds more than 20 scholarship offers, highlighted by Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas and others.

Under Armour All-American defensive back Dijon Johnson, who originally committed to Ohio State in April before reopening his recruitment this summer, is also set to announce his new home.

The has a top four of Florida, Miami, Ohio State, USC and will be announcing his commitment at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT:

Johnson is rated the nation's No. 7 safety on 247Sports, but also grades out as an equally special cornerback prospect.

So, where are they headed?

Prediction: Bryce Thornton, Dijon Johnson to Florida Gators

Thornton set his commitment date while he was sky-high on Florida and hadn't yet taken his visit to Alabama.

A lot can change over the course of a few months in recruiting, but Florida has remained a near-lock for some time.

Thornton feels like a slam dunk.

Johnson has been a little bit more difficult to pin down.

However, he visited Florida on back-to-back weekends in September and that seemed to be a clear indication of his leanings.

Shortly after that second trip, he set a commitment date.

Thursday should be a big day for the Gators, one that nets them a pair of highly-coveted (and versatile) defensive back prospects.
