The 2023 high school football season was filled with tremendous moments and spectacular performances on both an individual and team level.
Some players built off their dominant seasons from the year before and made the list in back-to-back seasons while others had true breakout years making a name for themselves.

Here is SBLive's all-classification, all-state team in the state of Washington for fall 2023.
Our guiding criteria:
1. Individual performance and accolades.
2. Success of team held considerable weight in selections.
3, Reliability and durability - playing near a full schedule - also was big factor.
4. A player was only eligible at one position.
5. Players selected for inclusive individual awards (such as state MVP Jason Brown Jr., of O'Dea, and offensive MVP Kolton Matson, of Lake Stevens) did not double on all-state team.

ALL-STATE FIRST TEAM OFFENSE

Quarterback: Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin, sr. (4A)
4A SPSL co-MVP was just as good with his legs (781 yards, eight TDs) as he was with his arm (311-of-416, 3,779 yards, 44 TDs) in leading Eagles to Class 4A title game.
Running back: Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic, jr. (4A)
Not bad for a Wing-T fullback, Jones showcased array of skill as 4A NPSL MVP, rushing for 1,138 yards and 22 TDs, and catching 33 passes for 451 yards and six scores.
Running back: Gunnar Peterson, Eastmont, sr. (4A)
A record-setting model of consistency, 4A CBBN offensive MVP rushed for 1,756 yards and 15 TDs, eclipsing the 100-yard mark in 20 of past 29 games for league champions.
Running back: Camden Schmidt, Kamiakin, sr. (4A)
Started season as wide receiver, but took over starting tailback gig in Week 5 - and rumbled to 4A/3A Mid-Columbia Conference rushing title (1,460 yards, 20 TDs).
Wide receiver: Bode Gardner, Mount Spokane, sr. (3A)
Most exciting big-play talent in Spokane, 4A/3A Greater Spokane League all-purpose MVP was dynamite (61 catches, 1,147 yards, 14 TDs; rushing score and five return TDs).
Wide receiver: Tony Harste, Emerald Ridge, sr. (4A)
Peppered constantly in Jaguars' high-powered pass game, Idaho signee had 67 catches for 1,393 yards and 17 TDs. Finished with school-record 206 catches total.
Wide receiver: Jabez Woods, Graham-Kapowsin, sr. (4A)
Repeat all-state pick, Montana State signee attacked all levels of the field for 106 catches, 1,309 yards and 10 TDs. Also rushed and passed for a score.
Tight end: Hogan Hansen, Bellevue, sr. (3A)
Yes, he was 3A KingCo defensive MVP, but this is his best - and future - position at Michigan. Vital run blocker still caught 10 passes for 215 yards and four TDs.
Offensive lineman: Nathan Knapik, Kennewick, sr. (3A)
Every title-seeking teams needs an anchor - and Idaho signee was that at left tackle. 4A/3A Mid-Columbia Conference lineman of year did not give up a sack all season.
Offensive lineman: Carson Osmus, Camas, sr. (4A)
Two-time all-4A GSHL first-team left tackle showcased strong hands and springy feet - and WSU signee also led defensive front's resurgence as first-year regular along line.
Offensive lineman: Dylan Sikorski, Sumner, sr. (4A)
He's the road-grading type in Spartans' power-run scheme, and four-year starter and Oregon State signee was named 4A SPSL offensive lineman of the year in 2023.
Offensive lineman: Marquise Thorpe-Taylor, Mount Tahoma, sr. (3A)
UCLA-bound offensive tackle led Thunderbirds' remarkable renaissance (first state-playoff in 43 years), and was voted 3A PCL offensive lineman of the year.
Offensive lineman: Willi Wascher, Bellevue, jr. (3A)
On pace to become program's first four-year starter, the 4A KingCo lineman of the year led insane production (5,250 total yards in 13 games) at center.
Athlete: Rocco Koch, Curtis, sr. (4A)
What a senior season for the dual-threat quarterback - and 4A SPSL co-MVP. He accounted for 4,080 total-offense yards and state-best 56 TDs in 11 games.
Multi-purpose: Hiro Patterson, Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls, sr. (1A)
Did it all as record-setting contributor for Class 1A runner-up Eagles. He caught 54 passes for 990 yards and 10 TDs and rushed for 603 yards and four scores.
Multi-purpose: Grady Woodward, Eastlake, sr. (4A)
All-4A KingCo performer started year at quarterback, moved back to wide receiver (52 catches, 812 yards, seven TDs) and finished primarily at tailback (622 yards, seven TDs).
Placekicker: Aidan Rainey, Arlington, sr. (3A)
Eagles flew through 3A Wesco play, and this all-league kicker was clutch (six of nine field goals over 40 yards, including school-record 46-yarder; 60-of-60 PAT kicks).

Defensive lineman: Alex Hach, Tumwater, sr. (2A)
Thunderbirds were full of big, rangy athletes - and this 2A Evergreen defensive MVP was best of all coming off the edge (39 tackles, 11 TFL, two blocked kicks).
Defensive lineman: Carter Kuchenbuch, Okanogan, jr. (2B)
Leader of undefeated state champions was physical specimen, collecting 50 tackles, including five TFL off edge; also had 1,500 total-offense yards, 36 TDs at quarterback.
Defensive lineman: AJ Tanupo, Eastside Catholic, sr. (3A)
Best interior defensive lineman in the state - and it wasn't particularly close. Montana State signee split double teams and stopped running backs in their tracks.
Defensive lineman: Jayden Wells, Mount Si, sr. (4A)
4A KingCo defensive lineman of year was quick-twitch disruptive off edge (seven sacks) for classification's top defense; signed with D1 Southern Utah.
Linebacker: Ryan Bowles, Woodinville, sr. (4A)
Two-way all-4A KingCo first teamer (LB/TE) was again among league tackling leaders (73.5 tackles, three INT, fumble recovery), and is headed off to Montana State.
Linebacker: David Lene, Eastside Catholic, sr. (3A)
Four-year starting "quarterback" of top defense in state over past half-decade, Lene was the reliable sure-tackling force - and three-time all-3A Metro first-team selection.
Linebacker: Cooper MacPherson, Chiawana, jr. (4A)
4A/3A Mid-Columbia Conference defensive MVP on outside was pace-setter in Riverhawks' fast, aggressive defense, totaling 55 tackles, including 25 TFL, 12 sacks.
Linebacker: Nikko Speer, Camas, jr. (4A)
Close loss to Yelm in season opener showed Papermakers' defense was back - and he led feisty, physical linebacker corps as 4A GSHL defensive MVP (143 tackles).
Linebacker: Mason Turner, Lake Stevens, sr. (4A)
Not by coincidence, when Vikings defense fixed early-season issues, all-4A Wesco first-teamer was biggest line-of-scrimmage solution (117 Tackles, 30 TFL).

Rangy 4A Wesco first-team free safety had nose for ball (62 tackles, seven INT, two TDs); was also team's top receiving target (817 yards, 18 TDs).

Pure explosiveness as all-2A Northwest Conference safety (100 tackles, three INT, 13 PPU, two blocked kicks); also had 1,264 total-offense yards and 11 TDs as athlete.

Was team's leading receiver and punt returner, but senior made his mark as shutdown cornerback - and 3A Metro defensive player of the year (two INT).
Defensive back: Logan Sloman, North Kitsap, sr. (2A)
Two-time 2A Olympic player of year is returning all-state pick (82 tackles, six INTs, 14 PBU) at cornerback; also had 1,012 yards and 20 total TDs at wide receiver.
Defensive back: Kyson Thomas, Moses Lake, sr. (4A)
4A CBBN player of year (1,068 receiving yards, 23 total TDs) dominated in all three phases, including as free safety (INT); will sign as preferred walk-on at WSU.
Hybrid: Tyson Hoke, Bothell, sr. (4A)
Earned 4A KingCo first-team honors at four positions (WR, S, P, KR), totaling nearly 2,000 all-purpose yards and 13 TDs in 10 games; also had four INT at safety.
Hybrid: Isaiah Patterson, Yelm, sr. (3A)
UCLA-bound defender was equally-effective as pass rusher off at end and at outside linebacker, leading Tornados with 113 tackles, including 18 TFL, and three sacks.
Punter: Matthew Herzog, Gonzaga Prep, sr. (4A)
Big-legged 4A/3A Greater Spokane League first teamer averaged 41.7 yards per punt on 33 attempts, and also is No. 2 all-time in league history in made PAT kicks (113).
