Recruiting: Top 15 uncommitted 2024 boys basketball prospects

Fifteen of the top 22 boys basketball recruits in the class of 2024 remain uncommitted with Dylan Harper and Tre Johnson, the No. 1 and No. 3 prospects respectively, headlining those 15 players. 

The evaluation period, where college coaches can only watch an athlete play in person or visit their school without communicating with the recruit off campus, is about to wrap up. More offers, visits and commitments will start to appear down the pipeline in the upcoming months - especially for the top uncommitted class of 2024 prospects. 

Here are the top 15 uncommitted senior boys basketball prospects, as of July 19:

(Players are listed in alphabetical order and all rankings are based on On3's consensus class of 2024 rankings.) 

Jalil Bethea - Archbishop Wood (Pennsylvania) - shooting guard - 5 star 

Bethea, a 6-foot-4 170-pound shooting guard, is ranked as the nation's No. 11 overall prospect in the class of 2024, No. 3 shooting guard and Pennsylvania's No. 1 ranked overall player. The five-star recruit holds over 30 Division 1 offers with Temple and Syracuse being the top two favorites to land Bethea. The Owls hold a 23.8% chance while The Orange are slightly behind with a 20.8% chance according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine. 

Flory Bidunga - Kokomo (Indiana) - center - 5 star

Bidunga, Indiana's No. 1 ranked prospect and the nation's top overall center in the class of 2024, recently announced his top four schools and surprisingly left out the in-state Indiana Hoosiers. The 6-foot-9 215-pound senior center's top four schools consisted of Duke, Kansas, Michigan and Auburn. Duke is the early favorite to land Bidunga with nearly a 50% chance. The Blue Devils' 2024 recruiting class currently consists of four-star small forward Isaiah Evans and four-star shooting guard Darren Harris.

Zoom Diallo - Prolific Prep (California) - point guard - 5 star 

Diallo, the nation's No. 2 overall point guard in the class of 2024 and California's No. 2 overall recruit, released his top six schools back in January that consisted of Gonzaga, Washington, Arizona, Florida State, USC and Kansas. He recently discussed his official visits to both Gonzaga and USC where he had extremely high praise for both programs. The 6-foot-4 190-pound point guard holds 20 Division 1 college basketball offers altogether with Gonzaga and USC leading the way as the expected destination spots for Diallo. 

VJ Edgecombe - Long Island Lutheran (New York) - shooting guard - 4 star 

VJ Edgecombe has been one the top risers in the class of 2024 largely part to his performance at the Adidas 3SSB Circuit last summer. Edgecomb is ranked as the nation's No. 16 overall recruit, No. 4 shooting guard and New York's No. 3 overall prospect. The 6-foot-4 180-pound currently holds 18 Division 1 offers with Duke, Villanova, Miami and Ohio State being the standouts. 

Isaiah Elohim - Sierra Canyon (California) - shooting guard - 4 star 

Isaiah Elohim is expected to have a standout senior year at Sierra Canyon (California) after how much he impressed as only a junior. The 6-foot-5 205-pound shooting guard is ranked as the nation's No. 22 overall prospect, No. 6 shooting guard and California's No. 3 ranked player. The four-star recruit holds offers from Alabama, Kansas, USC, Michigan, Kentucky and many others. Kansas is the early favorite to land Elohim with a 62.6% chance. 

Boogie Fland - Archbishop Stepinac (New York) - point guard - 5 star 

Boogie Fland, the nation's No. 1 point guard in the class of 2024, announced his top eight schools on Monday which consisted of Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, St. John's and UConn. The 6-foot-3 175-pound senior point guard has taken official visits to Indiana, Michigan and North Carolina so far. The five-star recruit has also taken unofficial visits to UConn and St. John's. Michigan is the current leader to land Boogie Fland with a 26.2% chance while Indiana is not far behind with a 22.9% chance.

Dylan Harper - Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey) - combo guard - 5 star 

Harper, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2024, narrowed his list to five schools back in February. Duke, Auburn, Indiana, Rutgers and Kansas all made the final cut for the most highly coveted recruit in the senior class. The 6-foot-6 205-pound combo guard averaged 23.4 points in his junior season at Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey). He was also named MVP at the prestigious John Wall Holiday Invitational this year - where he had a breakout performance of 36 points against five-star Kentucky commit DJ Wagner. Duke and Indiana are the current leaders to land Dylan Harper. 

Tre Johnson - Link Academy (Missouri) - shooting guard - 5 star 

The 6-foot-5 180-pound five-star shooting guard is down to six schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky and Texas. Johnson is ranked as the nation's No. 3 overall prospect in the class of 2024, No. 1 shooting guard and Missouri's top overall recruit. Johnson transferred to national powerhouse Link Academy (Missouri) from Lake Highlands (Texas) this past season. Baylor and Texas are the current front runners for the five-star shooting guard. 

Karter Knox - Tampa Catholic (Florida) - small forward - 5 star

The 6-foot-5 205-pound small forward is ranked as the nation's No. 6 senior prospect, No. 2 small forward and Florida's No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2024. Knox announced his top eight schools in May which consisted of Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, South Florida, Louisville and the NBA G-League. Knox's older brother, Kevin, played at Kentucky and was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft to the New York Knicks. In his junior season at Tampa Catholic (Florida), Karter averaged 19.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. 

Kon Knueppel - Wisconsin Lutheran (Wisconsin) - shooting guard - 4 star 

The four-star shooting guard holds a total of 15 Division 1 offers with Virginia and Notre Dame being at the top of his list. Knueppel scheduled three official visits earlier this week to Alabama, Virginia and Duke. This will be the second time the 6-foot-5 205-pound shooting guard will visit Virginia and will head to Duke for the first time on September 15. The Wisconsin Lutheran star is widely recognized as the best shooter in the entire class of 2024 and is the No. 1 ranked player in Wisconsin. 

Liam McNeeley - Montverde Academy (Florida) - small forward - 5 star

The five-star recruit out of national powerhouse Montverde Academy (Florida) narrowed down his list in June to Alabama, Indiana, Texas, Kansas, Michigan and Oklahoma. McNeeley is ranked as the nation's No. 8 overall prospect in the class of 2024, No. 3 small forward and Florida's No. 2 overall senior recruit. The 6-foot-8 205-pound small forward and Texas native has taken an official visit to Texas in April and has scheduled an official visit to Indiana in September. Texas currently has a 50.8% chance of landing Liam McNeeley while Indiana has a 22.6% chance. 

Asa Newell - Montverde Academy (Florida) - power forward - 5 star 

The 6-foot-9 205-pound power forward holds offers from more than 20 Division 1 programs. Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Gonzaga, Kansas and Michigan are the most notable headlining programs. Newell is the nation's No. 9 overall ranked senior prospect, No. 1 power forward and Florida's No. 3 overall recruit in the class of 2024. The five-star recruit has already visited Indiana twice and is planning to visit Alabama, Gonzaga and Texas in August. 

Derik Queen - Montverde Academy (Florida) - power forward - 5 star

Queen, a teammate of top prospects Liam McNeeley and Asa Newell at Montverde Academy (Florida), is ranked as the nation's No. 10 overall prospect in the class of 2024 and Florida's No. 4 overall recruit. The 6-foot-9 230-pound power forward holds offers from Maryland, Florida State, Georgetown, Kansas, Alabama and many others. Maryland is to be believed as the frontrunner for the five-star recruit as they have over an 80% chance of landing Queen according to On3. Derik Queen recently led his Adidas 3SSB circuit team, Team Thrill, to the Sportsradar Showdown championship game last week in Las Vegas. He had 27 points, 16 rebounds and four assists in the win. 

Derrion Reid - Grovetown (Georgia) - small forward - 4 star

The 6-foot-7 200-pound small forward holds offers from Georgia, Mississippi State, Kansas State, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama and many others. The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 17 overall prospect in the class of 2024, No. 5 small forward, and Georgia's No. 2 overall recruit. Reid has taken official visits to Mississippi State, Kansas State and Georgia so far. The Grovetown (Georgia) standout averaged 14.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists for Team Thad at Nike Peach Jam this year. 

Bryson Tucker - undecided- small forward - 4 star

Tucker, the nation's No. 15 overall prospect and No. 4 small forward in the class of 2024 holds more than 15 offers from Power 5 programs. Michigan State, Maryland, Duke, Auburn and Notre Dame are all heavily pursuing the 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward. Michigan State is reportedly reaching out the most to the four-star, who is paving an unconventional path. He played for IMG Academy (Florida) before leaving the program in January and doesn't play AAU basketball. He hasn't made up his mind where he's going to play his senior season, 247 Sports reported.
