Bronny James, Sierra Canyon basketball superstar, shows off his efficiency in Las Vegas

The 6-foot-3 son of LeBron James scores 31 points on 12 field-goal attempts in a Border League game

Friday was a rough night for the Bronny James doubters.

The Sierra Canyon senior scored 31 points on just 12 field-goal attempts in an 82-64 win over Bishop Gorman in a Border League game in Las Vegas.

Sierra Canyon is playing as CBC in the 100-team event, and Bishop Gorman is playing as LV Orange.

Friday's game could be a sneak preview to the Les Schwab Invitational in December in Oregon, as Sierra Canyon and Bishop Gorman are among the 16 teams participating.

James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, is ranked by ESPN as the No. 34 senior in the nation. The 6-foot-3 guard is being recruited by several major basketball programs, including the University of Oregon and Ohio State.

Bishop Gorman has won nine Nevada state championships in the past 10 years and boasts two top-50 players in four-star junior guards Jase Richardson and John Paul Mobley.

Sierra Canyon and Bishop Gorman each will have a place in SBLive Sports' preseason boys basketball national Top 25, which will be released Monday.
